So, I went for a quick breakfast and ordered two croissants, to which the owner (I had that impression) said I could only have one croissant because he had no more for the day and there were more people after myself. Never had that happen to me anywhere. He assumed my card was not Canadian, although it was. I found this telling, the fact that he assumed rather than ask.
The food was ok, but nothing special and certainly not worth the bad customer experience.
BTW I even ordered and interacted in French, not that it should matter, but it’s worth noting.

The Croissants were amazing! Nothing beats a freshly baked croissant 🤤 so happy to have found this little Cafe around the corner from our hotel. Strong coffee, friendly owner, we also tried some of the fresh bread which was also delicious!

The owner is so welcoming and friendly, he freshly bakes everything himself, and the store smells incredible as soon as you walk in. Croissants were so good we had to try 3 of them, they paired perfectly with the strong coffee, We had to try a loaf of his rye bread too, which was warm and fresh out of the oven, definitely will be back

The soup and sandwiches were delicious, with an Algerian twist, I really enjoyed them. The owner is also a lovely human being, super nice and great to talk to! I would definitely go back.

My wife and I decided to have a leisurely breakfast on our last day in Montreal so we walked to the neighbourhood and found this wonderful boulangerie called Plougastel. The owner is extremely friendly and provided us with fabulous coffee, incredible croissants, and some hot out of the oven sourdough bread! I couldn’t say no, especially when I was sitting beside a shelf that had peanut butter and jam in the same jar so of course I bought it. There is absolutely nothing like putting peanut butter and jam on a steaming piece of sourdough bread torn from the loaf!
My only regret is that we can’t come by for lunch and sample their soups and sandwiches, which I’m sure are equally as delicious as everything else we had this morning! Until next time!

The young barista was attentive, kind and made an amazing latte (one of the better coffees I have had in Montreal). We tried the eclair, and it was perfect! Great way to start the day, and a lovely atmosphere inside on a chilly winters morning. We will definitely be back.

Plougastel is a treasure! I tried the chocolate and plain croissants, and both were delicious. The plain croissant had a golden, crisp exterior, a tender, buttery interior that almost melted in your mouth, and a light, flaky crust. The chocolate croissant was equally delicious, with just the right amount of rich, fudgy chocolate filling to complement the buttery pastry without being too sweet.

The kindness and warmth of the staff made my visit special and created a warm atmosphere. To my surprise, everything was reasonably priced considering the quality. They use high quality products and clearly take care of their craft. I will come back to Plougastel as soon as I want a delicious pastry. Highly recommended!

Amazing place and amazing people. The owner is such a lovely person and so is his sons who help him run the place. Very polite and trusting people. Very tasty and fresh bread. Variety of pastries and sweets like fruit tarts. the chocolatine is GREAT😭💕💕😫😫.
The bread is sooo good.
Literally in love with this place.
They also have sandwiches and soup of the day options but I haven’t had the opportunity to try those yet.
