$4.95 for a tiny container of coleslaw is incomprehensible. The poutine is good but why this price for a mini coleslaw?

I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this place before, every year I visit Montreal and this is where I choose to eat my poutines.

The atmosphere, the staff, the quality of the food and service is great every time. It's become tradition for me to stop here and get my yearly poutine fix. I even have a shirt and stickers from here haha. On my most recent visit the waiter was nice enough to snap some pictures of me and my mom with our food so I am very thankful, and he also provided me some stickers.

Thanks for always providing top notch poutine!

According to an unreliable source (i.e., my imagination), Putinville, in Russian "Путинвиль", was the new capital of Russia, founded and built by hand, brick by brick, by no other. Vlad Putin” (street name), dictator and bear wrestler. There was only one dish there: poutine with a vodka sauce so strong that a single bite would have been enough to make a mammoth drunk.

In fact, Poutineville is a chain of our own that prides itself on having the recipe for the best poutine in Montreal and Quebec, which is not a small statement, knowing that the competition is fierce... but let's keep an open mind and let's see what fuel she uses.

At 11:45 a.m., I station myself in front of the Beaubien branch for the usual photo session. I take a look inside; the lamps are on, but everything seems calm. The windows reflect the image of the city slowly going about its business, including that of a young lady returning from her shopping, clutching a pack of ten oranges.

The door opens onto a narrow corridor of a few meters, an isolated antechamber where there is a strong smell of... old wood? Cleaning products? I can't tell you, other than the fact that it wasn't a cooking scent. I pull the second door. The waitress has her back to me and chats with the cook. Sensing the presence of the first customer, she turns around and invites me to sit wherever I want. So I go under the arch and settle into a more isolated section, but where, still, a certain smell of cleaning product can be seen. To my left, a television hanging on the wall devotes a program to pets. To my right, a wall displays the works of young artists with their most beautiful drawings, including one which, I believe, should please the Russian tsar: a big, plump bear resembling Chewbacca.

Where Poutineville stands out is the possibility of creating your own creation with a panoply of ingredients: crushed potatoes, blue cheese, guacamole, chicken wings… However, my eye was more drawn towards their “specialty” , the “Poutineville” with homemade fries, cheese curds, mozzarella, braised beef and red wine sauce, betting that it should be their most accomplished product. However, the waitress warns me against the red wine sauce, telling me that it may not be suitable for everyone. Taking note of his warning, I wonder about the possibility of making “half and half” brown sauce and wine sauce. She tells me another solution: put the two sauces separately, in bowls.

Well, thanks to her presence of mind, she saved me from deep disappointment: the red wine sauce was not at all appetizing and combined in an inharmonious way with the fries, which were otherwise very good. Another downside: the cheese curds are cold, as if they came out of the refrigerator, and therefore do not seem fresh that day.

Unfortunately, I was not able to conclude, like the restaurant owners, that Poutineville offers the best poutine in town. As far as I am concerned, she is even far from the podium. However, I hope that the French (or European from country

This was our first time in Montreal and 1st poutine experience from an authentic restaurant. Emmanuel suggested us the best poutine. He was very accommodating and helpful. The food was great.Even our toddler loved it.Our toddler was given crayons to draw which kept him distracted. We thought Emmanuel was the owner of the restaurant because his service was top notch.Highly recommend this place.

Kid-friendliness: Highchair.Kids menu.Crayons for kids to draw.
