Presse Café - St-James

Location us excellent next to a church. As other reviewers have said it is very run down inside and an awful place to stay and have a drink, some food.
My poor choice in ordering but I made the mistake of choosing a salmon bagel and it was awful. Price was crazy too.
Reason for leaving 3 stars and not lower is the coffee- superb.
In summary it's great for a take out coffee, definitely don't sit in, and if you must buy food be very cautious.

The owner is stingy, my Grill Cheese had only a thin slice of white cheese and no butter for $7.99.
My shabatta with bacon eggs, well there were only 2 small pieces of eggs in it, no bacon in its first half and a 2cm piece in the other, no butter or mayo or tomatoes.
It's really taking customers for pies.
Radicalism in the extreme.

Very nice place to eat, small dinner, it's a very calm atmosphere and the staff is very courteous, the food is excellent, I loved my experience here

Downtown, here I am, at Presse Café! Luckily someone gets up every morning and comes to work to serve us excellent coffee and something for lunch! Much appreciated. The intense taste of their filter coffee simply satisfies me!

The service was very ordinary. The staff seemed jaded, and we felt it. Not many seats. At least the coffee was hot and fresh.

Good welcome, clean, welcoming. The food is fresh.

Dietary restrictions: Lactose free
