My friends and myself were once part of the furniture at McCarold’s. Our long evenings were then filled with long forgotten and unproven manly-man tales of conquests and fortunes. For the sake of a healthier liver and as family duties were calling upon, I had to abandon ship and ancre my safety boat in a distant suburb. I still go back every now and then, so to remember the good times and the better times. Set almost at the foot of Mount-Royal in the busy, eclectic and diversified...
Their vegetarian poutine with hot pepper is full of flavor and they have a good variety of beer and always great service.

Their terrace in summer is also interesting, despite the noise on CDN, which is the city's fault, not them.
I spent two years touring and playing bodhran in the pub circuit in the 90s. I spent a deal of time in pubs in Ireland (mostly Dublin and Tipp.) Murphy's stout is a staple food in the south, & Harp is very popular with the Lady's. I couldn't get either here. But they recommended their own version of a Black&Tan and I said "Ok". What I got was a tan coloured beverage. The next one (and last) was what they don't call a Black&Tan but a Blonde&Tan....
