My friend and I are unfamiliar with bars. We had brought alcohol with us from outside, asked if we were allowed to bring it in, and understandably we were refused. The staff confirmed with us multiple times that we could get the alcohol back when we were leaving, so we left it at the entrance.
When we were leaving, the staff refused to return it to us. He was unhelpful and simply told us the matter was out of his hands. We waited until they were free, then questioned them more about the matter. To which they finally told us to return the next day to get it back.
The next day, I first asked a staff member for help on the matter. Thankfully, the staff tried to help me with the matter but to no avail, and he instead directed me to speak with the manager. She was occupied so I politely waited for her to complete her task.
The manager refused to return my items and told me to leave. When I informed her that the staff confirmed with me repeatedly that I could get my alcohol back, she denied this and said that the staff had said otherwise. She did however, make it a point to inform me that she had seen this review.

Best Bar in Montreal. Whoever runs the daytime playlist might have the greatest taste of all time.
Breakfast Poutine or BELT are the way to go. Staff are Awesome. Great place to study during the day, and Not Study at night.

Really bad spot. Service from Alex (?) was horrible, ignored us for 10 minutes and wouldnt even look at my friend (visible minority)
