Baba in Complex Desjardins is a good spot for a quick meal. The shawarma is fairly ordinary and nothing special, but the fried potatoes that come with it are exceptional—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and easily some of the best in Montréal. While the main dish may not stand out, the fries alone make it worth stopping by. A solid choice if you’re craving something simple with truly amazing sides.
I regularly come here for lunch. For $12, you can get a chicken shawarma sandwich and they let you customize it based on your preferences. Removing a star because sometimes they leave the sandwich in the panini press for too long and cause it to char. But they are very efficient at processing the long lunch lines, and the staff is friendly enough.

Sialoquence and food serving do not match. Cashier was super distracted. They were mocking a client in arab for no reason and couldn't let her focus. I'll go somewhere else next time. Food tasted okay.

I went in the afternoon, the guy serving/touching the food was also handling the cash. He would touch the machine, money, his phone and then touch peoples food. No gloves, no washing his hands. DISGUSTING!

Hello, Baba's Restaurant, you have the best food.
beef shawarma plate was really delicious!
Too fatty and 0 flavors, even the falafels were tasteless and so full of oil... Too bad for a Lebanese canteen! I don't recommend at all

One of the worst shawarma you can eat in Montreal... the chicken is very dry, the pita bread is of poor quality...

As someone who grew up in the Middle East, I am incredibly critical of middle eastern food, but I have to say, this place is spectacular. Seems very unassuming – mall food court, yet it’s genuinely a hidden gem. I got the chicken shawarma plate and everything was delicious; the hummus (actually tasted authentic and not like the garbage they sell at the grocery store), the chicken was juicy with crispy edges, the rice was aromatic, and the salads were actually salads and not some dry greens. I’m very impressed. Will certainly come again next time I’m in Montreal.
