We were first to arrive for lunch time. We were well greated and received and our orders were taken fast. The food was on point as well as the drinks. It was pretty cold in the restaurant as it was very dim and dark. The door was open ( Canadian winter ) so very chilli. Please keep in mind we were first and the only guest. This is why I only give 3 stars for atmosphere as we did not experience de restaurant at its heart beat am sure during rush hours or late at night must be entirely different. I recommend to book if you wish to eat at later times, definitely a spot to visit for those who love West African food in Montreal.

A Wonderful Dining Experience!

I recently visited this African restaurant and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. From the moment I walked in, the welcoming and vibrant ambience set the tone for a great meal. The decor was warm and inviting, with a touch of authentic African charm that made the atmosphere truly unique.

The service was top-notch—the staff member was attentive, friendly, and eager to ensure we had a great dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. Their positive attitude added an extra touch of warmth to the evening.

As for the food, it was absolutely delicious! We ordered fufu, alloco, half chicken yassa, and half grilled chicken. Each dish was bursting with rich, flavorful spices and cooked to perfection. The fufu had the perfect texture, the alloco was crispy and sweet, and the chicken dishes were tender and wonderfully seasoned. It was clear that a lot of care and love went into preparing the food.

This restaurant is a gem, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy authentic African cuisine in a welcoming and pleasant setting. I can’t wait to come back and try more dishes!

Last weekend, my family and I visited 30 Juin Restaurant in Montreal, a spot known for its authentic Congolese cuisine. We were excited to dive into flavors that reminded us of home, and this meal did not disappoint. Our server, Claudia, warmly welcomed us and guided us through the menu, making us feel at ease right away.

To start, we ordered Sweet Potato Fries, Beef Samoussas (4), and Veggie Samoussas (5). Each bite was bursting with flavor and set the tone for the feast to come. For our shared, family-style entrée, we chose a variety of dishes: Makayabu (2) - fried cod that was perfectly seasoned and crispy, ½ Yassa Chicken - braised chicken marinated in a lemon, mustard, and onion sauce that was both tangy and rich, and Laid - stewed cassava leaves that brought a comforting, earthy taste. These entrées were paired with white rice and Fufu - a soft dough made from wheat flour, ideal for scooping up every bit of sauce.

This meal hit home in every sense. Not only was it hearty and delicious, but it also brought back childhood memories of eating similar dishes at my grandparents’ house. The flavors were authentic and nostalgic, and with six of us sharing, there was still plenty of food left over to take home.

The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, and being among the first customers to arrive, we had a chance to enjoy the space before it filled up. Claudia’s service was impeccable - she was attentive and kind, adding to our experience. That said, the bathroom could use some attention. While it was usable, it wasn’t as clean or presentable as I would have liked.

Overall, 30 Juin Restaurant delivered a meal that felt like a warm hug from home. I love a good African cuisine, and this spot truly captured the essence of Congolese flavors. We’ll definitely be back for another visit!

I had a terrible experience with this restaurant. We ordered salted fish , goat meat , plantain kwanga.

When we received our food we noticed that the salted fish that we PAID 27$ for was 2 small pieces. Although it was good , it was absolutely disgusting that were overcharged for small pieces.

Furthermore , the goat meat was insanely salty and there are people that have hypertension which can cause further medical issues.

In addition , the plantains were old and were very small. I would believe that a well reputed restaurant would have been able to sell fresh plantains , indicate on their website that you are paying 27$ for 2 small pieces of salted fish.

I also spoke to a restaurant worker and they were absolutely no help. Overall this was a terrible experience and I won’t recommend to have their food delivered. Paid almost 100$ for this terrible service

I order from this place all the time as for it’s my fav African restaurant but I want to understand why this was 27$… the portion is smaller than it usually is. I also ordered pondu, it’s tough and not cooked. Not really happy this time

It was a beautiful evening that we spent on "June 30" during a Franco-Congolese family reunion.
A faultless achievement for the owner of this restaurant who prepared succulent and very well presented African dishes for us. The server was smiling and attentive. Bravo and thank you for this welcome and the quality of the meal
