I would simply go again! We felt truly welcome. Nice and friendly service and all we ordered was delicious! Tasty ramen and perfectly cooked egg. Tempura was simply wow! Cheesecake perfect but the matcha ice cream was just average.

Tried the chicken ramen — tasty and comforting, not flashy but well-made. The broth had a nice depth and the chicken was tender. The vibe is a big part of the experience: the place is cozy and lined with iconic anime posters and Studio Ghibli poster s — Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, which gives the space a fun, nostalgic energy. Pleasant spot for a relaxed meal.

Knowing well Japanese food living in Asia. Yes this is good but in my opinion way too much oil and onions in the sauce and not enough meat
Given the price I was disappointed by the portion (quite small) the tiny bit of meat and the huge amount of oil - the egg is a simple sunny side up not at all the Japanese egg I was expecting to get in a Japanese restaurant and for the price we paid!! Biggest disappointment
Service: there always only 1 girl in charge of the whole restaurant - so there was a very long wait - but she was very graceful and smiley
The gyoza are very good and the chicken as well
Ended up paying 120$ for 3 and not sure whether it’s really worth it

For a casual dining experience with DELICIOUS Japanese food - GO HERE! Chillax is just the respite I needed after exploring the city all morning.
(And for those that partake … they have a giant box of stickers near the front counter :)

From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. The atmosphere truly lives up to the name — super relaxed, cozy, and inviting. I had the Chillax Burger with fries and it was absolutely delicious — juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The fries were crispy and seasoned perfectly. The service was attentive and friendly, and the staff made us feel right at home without being overbearing. The drink menu was also a nice surprise — great options and well made. Whether you’re out for a casual dinner or catching up with friends, Chillax is a solid go-to. Great food, chill atmosphere, and consistent quality. Can’t wait to come back!

It is certainly not an “authentic Japanese restaurant”. The service was okay, but the food was honestly the worst we’ve ever had. We ordered fried udon with chicken, and the portions were tiny (the bowls are way smaller than they look in the pictures). On top of being overpriced, the food was bland with no spice, seasoning or flavor at all. Definitely not worth it.
I’ve noticed that many restaurants in Montreal use owner-posted photos to attract customers, so I wouldn’t trust the pictures or the reviews at face value.

Cozy restaurant filled with Japanese memorabilia and decor. Great rustic japanese inspired cuisine. Always a return for me for a nice lunch.
