After one hour of waiting, no water was offered and our drinks had not arrived. The place was basically empty and had no reason to take so long. After getting ready to leave, they stated that the drinks were being made and that it had only been half an hour.
While the place looks beautiful and I would love to come back I would not want to wait an hour for a drink.
Not only that, my $19 drinks was basically a large ice cube. My friends drink was a margarita with no salt. I have never seen that. I was really excited and I am so sad I was disappointed.
The food is a bit underwhelming but for the price of 25$ for 3 course it’s acceptable! Our server wasn’t very attentive however the atmosphere is lovely
Overall the taste wasn’t bad, but the portions were really small… we were expecting to get bigger portions if we didn’t buy the 3 for 33 or 5 for 55 deal and only took a plate…yet it was the same size and pushed my friend to take the deal or stay hungry… Cause let’s be honest 20$ for a plate of 8pieces of gnocchi’s isn’t the best deal…The waitress was a bit cold too and made us feel uncomfortable honestly. Hopefully she isn’t like this with other clients too…
Overall, our night for 2 was amazing. We went on Friday April 11th from 7pm to 9h30.
Excellent: service was truly amazing (she was funny, kind, attentive), ambiance and vibes were immaculate, our gravlax entrée left us speechless, good portions for tapas style, the matcha crème brûlée wow!, cocktails are expensive (≈20$) but definitely worth it, and 3 course for 25$ was a steal. Focaccia was amazing too.
Good: the main dishes lacked a little flavour… the pasta was good, but nothing that can’t be whipped up at home under 30 mins.
To be improved: our main dishes took quite a long time to arrive, but understandable as it was busy and the server made sure to check up often.
Disappointed: we were left disappointed by the Asian short ribs that really lacked flavour and sauce. Mainly we were disappointed because the rice was quite undercooked.
But we left this place happy, we ate well, had great cocktails, and for 150$ in total it was worth it (tip and taxes incl.) for 2x 3 courses, 2 cocktails and a beer, foccacia and saucission extra (great portion). We’ll come back :)
UPDATE - we went again to see if they good do a repeat. 100%. My wife and I came here for a couple of cocktails and apps. Home Run! Great Music, awesome vibe, great food and portions. Only minor slip was service took a bit of time but really was minor in the grand scheme of the experience. Definitely recommend this place.
What an awesome and amazing place in the down town 😍😍😍must be tried
I think my friend and I got food poisoning here. They are having a 3 dishes for $33 deal and we only had 1 dish that was the same (the pasta). After eating it we both had bad stomach pain. My friend tried telling the waitress big she was a bit defensive and said maybe we were allergic to dairy, which we aren’t. After more stomach pain my friend ended up throwing up in the restaurant bathroom as well as at home that night as well as the next day. It’s a bit concerning that the waiter didn’t seem concerned or take our situation seriously at all — she was just defending the restaurant and giving us reasons why it couldn’t have been their food. As someone who has worked in restaurant kitchens and has expérience in food safety I don’t think it’s wise to just write off customers reporting likely food poisoning.
Treat very well for English speaking out of towners
Loved my experience when we went earlier this summer. The food was honestly amazing, especially at that pricepoint! Good way to get a cool 4-5 service dinner without having to cringe at your bill at the end of the night (I don't drink booze so that also helps).
Service was very slow, but the waitress was alone due to a staff not showing up and we felt really bad for her. Shit happens. Overall a great night nonetheless.
Not worth the money!

Went there with no expecations, but the food ended up being fantastic! I recommend the beef carpaccio and eggplant with pesto sauce. The braised beef was so tender it practically fell off the bone. The tiramisu was just okay. Id come back!
Came for MTL a Table and was very impressed by the food and value. The decor is really interesting and unique and the service was great.
The restaurant portion (Le vandale) is super nice. Most of the food is good and the concept is nice.
The speakeasy in the basement, though, is horrible. It smells like mold and humidity. It's extremely dark, and the service was mediocre.
So the previous rating is for the restaurant only.
Some dishes lacking flavor, very long service.

We had a great time. The staff is very friendly, the bartenders are very competent and offer an elaborate and careful menu, with refined flavors.
