A nice family run establishment and they serve excellent food. Our waiter Basile was excellent and we felt very well taken care of. The tempura was delicious as was the sushi. The Miss Saigon roll was the favourite of the night. Fresh and well prepared. The raspberry sorbet tasted like you were biting into a ripe raspberry. Highly recommended.

It was a perfect place for date night, low light atmosphere. Very pleasant.
Service was good, staff all seemed to work together wonderfully making it an inviting space.

I had very high expectations for this iconic restaurant on Rue Laurier, supposedly one of the best sushi spots in town. We came as part of the Montréal à table festival, there was a choice of a hot menu or a cold menu, for the rest it was the chef's choice and the waiter could not tell us what the mysterious options might be. Bento-style dishes were correctly prepared and presented but nothing incredible either.
What disappointed us the most; the service. Long wait when we arrived for the first service and the room was empty, we had to ask for water refills (without a carafe on the table), the waiters forgetting to bring us the soy/ginger/sauce. wasabi with our sushi, and finally we had to have a choice of dessert and they brought us sorbet, telling us that this evening there was no choice of dessert... Sorbet even though it was -5 °c outside... Not our first choice it goes without saying.
TLDR: if you want an experience tasting well-executed traditional Japanese dishes and impeccable service, avoid Mikado!

The place is beautiful but a little disappointed with the service. We had the mtl table menu, a bottle of wine and two other starters in addition but we were not even offered dessert from the mtl table menu. So we had paid full price without having had the right to do so. Otherwise special mention to the yakitori skewers which were delicious.

Incredible experience! Very good quality fish that melts on the tongue, I recommend the assortments of nigiri and sashimi! The cocktails are excellent and the Bartender/Mixologist is really very pleasant, professional and passionate! The welcome by the manager, the waitress and the waiters was perfect throughout the dinner. THANK YOU and go to MIKADO!
