A lot of people told me that Montreal was THAT GIRL when it came to being a foodie's paradise city, and I have to admit I didn't believe them at all. ....Until I went to Montreal and had three of the best dinners I've ever had in my entire life. Our first night in the city, we came to Restaurant Riziere based on the amazing google reviews, and we were not disappointed! The intimate interior layout, the open kitchen, the beautiful decor, they all just added to the overall phenomenal experience here. For three of us, we ordered the dumplings mixed with homemade Sichuan sauce, torched salmon rice bowl, and the dan dan noodles and I seriously cannot pick a favorite out of the three. Each one was a flavor powerhouse, expertly prepared, incredibly fresh and a true culinary delight. If you're considering a meal here, stop thinking about it and get over there already!

Does the photo on the right resemble the photo on the left? I ordered the Braised Beef Noodle Soup expecting the beef to be thinly sliced like their photo on Instagram. Instead I got cubes of beef. Very deceptive and nothing like the photo on IG. Having said that the service was good and it’s a great location near the corner of Blvd St Laurent & Avenue Mont Royal.

The tofu skins were delicious! The waiter squeezed me in before closing - very nice guy.
Walking into Rizière in Montreal is always a treat for the senses. The bustling atmosphere, combined with the savoury aromas wafting from the kitchen, immediately sets the stage for an authentic experience. I recently tried their spicy beef with rice and it was absolutely exquisite. The Dumplings were perfectly prepared crisp on the outside, tender and flavourful inside. The service was prompt, friendly, and attentive, ensuring our tea cups were never empty. If you are looking for top-notch Cantonese cuisine (or Szechuan, depending on the restaurant), this is easily one of the best spots in the city. A must-visit for any serious food lover!

Came to Montreal for our honeymoon, and randomly had a chance to visit this restaurant. I must first recommend the place for its petit environment with friendly and efficient staff.
I am always a laksa lover, the laksa is great for its broth, and is marvelous for the rice noodle option they had—Thin, chewy, and immersed well in the soup.
For tan tan noodles (or dan dan noodles, whichever you translate), it is considered the best of North America so far based on my wife’s opinion (for these 8 years). The proportion is also fair for a single order.
Still, we two skipped lunch, so we ordered the beef noodle soup to wrap up the experience. For how chewy and juicy the beef chunks are, it worth a 5-star itself. The soup is kind of a blend of Taiwanese and some southern Chinese style, which satisfied both our taste buds.
As a result, I am adding another 5 star review to the 600+ others, the place is worth it, and quite a hidden gem in the city. Bon appetit 😋

My first time going here and not ordering dumplings! I’m so glad we decided to try the dandan noodles and the black bean saucy noodles. Both were so delicious, the noodles had the perfect chew, and everything was really flavourful. The dandan noodles were a bit different than at most places I’ve tried (a bit more of a creamy broth at the bottom— delicious!) but I loved them anyway.
