The food was ok, the service was ok but got worst as the dinner went on. The staff were rushing us to pay the bill and leave.

The restaurant smells like old socks, armpits and wet shoes. The food was ok. The service was horrible. The cashier was really rude. He screamed and yelled at us and told us to never come back because we tipped him 13% instead of 15%
I was ready to pay 15% tip with my card but the restaurant doesn’t accept credit card. I recommend the restaurant across from them (Pho Tay Ho)

Great neighborhood restaurant. I have been passing by since I moved into the area and was not disappointed once I decided to step in.

Our meal started with the imperial rolls (cha gio) and the papaya salad (without beef). The rolls were in my opinion the star of the night; generously filled and simply delicious. These are the imperial rolls you always hope for but rarely get. The papaya salad was fresh and well dressed - not spicy as their Thai counterpart usually is.

We followed our meal with bahn xeo - a crispy Vietnamese omelette/crêpe that was filled with chicken and a generous amount of bean sprouts, and Bun Cha Hanoi. The airy and crispy texture of the crepe is addictive to say the least and very enjoyable. The grilled bun cha meat was also very tasty!

In sum, Y Lan is a great restaurant where you can be sure to enjoy a great meal with great service.

Highly recommended!

Exceptional and authentic cuisine. Everything is good and the service is professional and friendly. The pho broth is perfect, the banh xeo (Vietnamese pancake) exceptional, the bo tai chanh (beef carpaccio with lemon juice) addictive and… lots of other dishes that I could talk about at length! Even the general tao is super good even if it’s not a Vietnamese dish!!! It's worth the detour!

A delight! This restaurant has become a tradition for my grandfather and me. The place is calm and serene. The service is kind, polite and impeccable. Not to be missed, their pho is my favorite in Montreal.

We had been regulars for several years but we noticed that the portions had decreased terribly but not the prices...a starter of sweet potato-shrimp fritters with only one shrimp...a joke...betel leaves (my favorite dish ) went from 6 rolls to 5....we believe that the customer will not notice...we left disappointed and felt ripped off a little.....we are going elsewhere now...two lost customers
