Reuben's Restaurant Delicatessen

Very cool restaurant, felt almost like I was transported to a past decade. Love the vibe and decor. Extremely well maintained establishment. However the food itself felt mediocre. Portion size of the kaiser sandwich was very disappointing and the meats were just okay. There was a subtle lack of attention to detail like placing the pickle on a hot plate just made for a warm pickle which isn’t very appetizing. Poutine was probably my favourite part of the meal. Also one awkward moment of the meal transpired where the server dropped a mayo pack on the floor but swiftly picked it up and tried to conceal her putting it back on the plate and served it to me right after. Extremely odd and somewhat disrespectful moment which I assume was a momentary lapse of judgement. Overall my expectations for the food itself was not lived up to, but it’s a cool restaurant.

This is a cute little upscale Deli. The staff are friendly, the place gives oldstyle pub vibes on a classy level.

The prices are a bit on the high end, and you can expect to pay around 30 bucks on the lower end. I went for the lunch menu sandwich combo, and it came with a 6oz sandwich, fries, coleslaw, and a pint all for 30 dollars. The fries came crispy and stayed crispy, and 6oz is misleading, i could not finish the second half the portion was so substantial.

Beautiful selection of pastas and steaks aswell.

10/10 recommend. I will be back next time i fly in for business. Would be a great location for stakeholder engagement.

Shoutout to Wayne for bringing the good vibes and humor. Did i mention the frosted pint glasses?

A little more expensive then elsewhere, but the portions reflect that and you get big plates of food.

Everything we had was very good.

Sadly, my burger was slightly over cooked, certainly not medium as advertised. Still good though.

Desserts are delicious.

Service was excellent! Knowledgeable, friendly, bilingual, fast!

All in all a good meal. There's no way you leave this restaurant hungry!

This restaurant is close to hitting it's 50th anniversary, which is a remarkable feat in Canada. This restaurant has been on my list since I moved here 4 years ago so I came here with much anticipation. Unfortunately, my excitement was met with much disappointment. The quality of the service and the quality of the food were on two completely different levels. The service was the best, our server was warm, friendly and funny and such a pleasure to be served by. She let me practice my French with jovial encouragement. Unfortunately, the food was awfully disappointing. Just a complete lack of love in all the dishes. I go the super roast beef melt which came to the table looking like something a construction worker's wife packs for his lunch. Sandwiches did not look aesthetically pleasing or appetizing. Mid quality. My friend got the fish and chips and the fish had no battering on it. It was just fried fish with a light coating, I don't even know if they can call that fish and chips. They were so nice to us I wish I could leave a better review but this food was just not it.

Came for the F1 weekend with my fiancé and his brother! I'm a real smoked meat lover and you can taste how fresh the meat is compared to the smoked meat places on the southshore. The hostess and the man at the front (seems like a manager) were very hospitable and very kind. Our server was very nice too. I had the classic smoked meat sandwich, my boyfriend had the F1 burger and his brother had the chicken burger. If you haven't tried this place already, please do! And make sure you try a cheesecake before you go 😉
