Intrusive owner. Talks about his frustrations following the supposed blocking of his street for city work. Sits at a table near us during our meal. We were the only 4 in the restaurant.

There were only four of us in the restaurant on a Saturday evening. The welcome from the owner was warm. We were not given any menu and were offered dishes to share, which was fine with us. We should have asked the price! For 4 people $250. Before tip. The couscous was good although reheated, the chickpea and salad starters correct. The owner interfered in our conversations throughout the meal, too intrusive. We were not allowed to bring our leftovers. Unacceptable. I will never go back there.

Small, innocuous restaurant which has hardly changed since its opening in 1985 but offers authentic dishes and a cheerful, teasing and respectful owner.

Couscous good but not exceptional and above all everything is reheated in the microwave, the owner prefers to chat with his friend than take care of the customers, there were 4 of us in the restaurant! We left since we weren't offered coffee, tea or dessert and it's expensive, move on!!!

We rsvp after reading the Tastet review... I think it's my worst restaurant experience in Montreal. We were the only customers, the food was lukewarm, reheated in the microwave. The waiter “drank” a glass of wine. We never had a menu. We were never told the prices. For 3 people, with royal couscous and 3 starters, the bill was over $100 EACH. The worst? We weren't allowed to keep our leftovers...

If you're looking for the best couscous in Montreal...it's here. Superb well hidden rear terrace. The owner knows the history of Quebec very well. A former Premier of Quebec found inspiration there.

At the time of our reservation, the door was locked and the restaurant looked closed... We ate elsewhere.
Frozen lamb from New Zealand.....+ lousy service!
Bland couscous, overpriced starters and poor service.
Delicious lamb couscous, delightful owner. Excellent service. Bring your own wine bottle.

Very bad experience, I do not recommend… No atmosphere, disappointing service, no menu, so no idea of prices, high bill
The couscous was delicious and the chicken was very tasty, congratulations ?. The photos they have are very interesting. The place is quirky. The only bad thing is the bathroom, it didn't look very clean.
HORRIBLE! RUN AWAY!Arrival on a Saturday with my friend, delighted to eat couscous. We would be alone throughout the meal! Person !! Welcoming gentleman...no more.We share the starter which consists of a chickpea salad, tomatoes and apples, chouchouka and industrial pitas!! For a price(drumroll) ...from $24!! ASHAMED!! The price of couscous...Let's move on to the main course, the couscous with vegetables is bland...one wonders if it's not canned. We're not going to choke on 2 carrots, 1 turnip and a few zucchini. The semolina is fine and correct!!The utensils are straight out of the canteen. The toilets are not clean and the prices are too expensive!! I do not recommend!
Very bad reception. It looks like the owner was being disturbed. Very ordinary food, high prices. Endless wait.Unpleasant experience.
Nice food.
