Hidden gem, low key old school authentic Japanese restaurant, I’ve been here twice, both times were great. Great service too.

You might miss this place, but let us tell you don't miss out. This is a gem in the heart of Montreal. It has been in business for over 52 years and you need to eat here. We went for lunch and course after course was amazing. Made with love from the owner herself and she is so sweet.
Thank you

My new favorite Japanese Restaurant!!! So so authentic brings me back when I travelled japan. And it was so cute because an old grandma was the one who made the food, her name was Momo-san if I'm not mistaken. The food was amazing and the quality of the food is superb!! Serving is really great for the price you're paying!!! The staff are so so polite and very souriant!! :))) will def tell everyone to visit this hidden gem!!!

Quaint Japanese restaurant about 350m from the Bell Centre. It’s located on the 2nd floor at the intersection of Stanley and Cypress so there are some stairs to climb. It’s right next to the Italian restaurant and the signage isn’t as obvious so you might miss it. Had the Bento du jour, which was quite generous in its servings. The fried tofu was pretty good, and the teriyaki salmon was a good serving served on a bed of rice. It came with 3 pieces of sushi and 4 California rolls that were very good. I enjoyed the small spring roll it came with as it was a different flavour to the fish pieces. The tempura was nice and light and the skewer of teriyaki chicken was very flavourful. Not shown in the picture but also included was a bowl of miso soup, salad and a dessert that included a scoop of green tea ice cream and a cup of hot green tea. Pretty good value bento box! Super friendly older lady was serving everyone and I was surprised they weren’t busier. I wasn’t sure how big the bento box would be so ordered a spicy salmon roll and 2 pieces of spicy tuna, both were great!

Service is always pleasant. However I have been a loyal customer for many years and regrettably the quality of the fish has declined. I don’t think I would go back. The owner is an OG, but sadly the restaurant is no longer a competitor for great sushi/sashimi in Montreal.
Sashimi and sushi combo $33, sashimi is ridiculously small, like leftovers. Not worth visiting.
Amazing family owned restaurant! Food is all made by an older woman who I assume is the mother, and it was all very delicious. It’s clear that it is good quality and authentic. Truly had a very good experience here
My cousin introduced me to this gem years ago; therefore not my first time here; Noriko Ishii-san is extremely meticulous in her food crafting and is incredibly friendly. She wants to know about people, their love for Japan, and ultimately serve them great food. For a culture rich experience, and good food, this is the best place in town.

Real Japanese food, Set dinner was terrific & good choice.
Relaxing atmosphere and great sushi.
Extremely disappointed with this 50 year old Japanese restaurant. First of all the prices are ridiculously high for what you get. The quality of the food was poor, the sashimi was not good quality, the bluefin tuna was Sea Delight tuna or similar, a quality that is not suitable for sashimi. The size of the pieces of sashimi were ridiculous, about 10g and less!!! The edamame were served ice cold, almost still frozen (normally they are steamed and served hot in Japanese restaurants). I had to ask the waiter to wash the table, it was all sticky with food when we arrived. My wife and I had a very bad stomach after, probably the poor quality of the sashimi !!! Do not go there !!!
I recommend it

I was extremely disappointed by this Japanese restaurant. First of all, the prices are ridiculously high for what you get. The quality of the food was poor — the sashimi wasn’t fresh, and I don’t even understand how they can justify charging such a high price for sashimi that’s not even comparable to the quality of an all-you-can-eat place. The rice was dry and unappetizing. The service was just as bad, with staff being inattentive and unresponsive to customer needs. Overall, it’s not worth the price, and there’s absolutely no reason to come back. Save your money and go somewhere else!
