I completely understand the hype of the place. Such a niche vibe. The crowd felt amazing, the place, though tight in space, felt a hearty. I would say that finding space was an issue but if just stick around for 10 - 15 minutes, you will find a nice table.
good coffee, good matcha and good food. Must try is the breakfast sandwhich and their burger. A must try of you are in Montreal for more than 5 days.

Best pancakes in the city, and I feel like I know good pancakes…the mushroom toast w burrata was my favorite “toast” in the city until I had the tomato toast in the summer. Good vibes, even when it’s super busy. One of my favourite places in Montreal.

The food was so good and worth the hype. The coffee was also great. Their pastries are also amazing. I felt the service was okay and there isn’t much seating inside.

i went there three times, it is pretty packed and messy inside but good is insane. The pancakes do deserve their hype, HALOOMI TOAST is delicioussssss and i didn’t expect it to be that amazing. Drinks too are very great. Go there early if you can or else you will wait

Absolutely amazing brunch spot. I love that the menu is not too big and that they really focus on doing a few things very well, while still offering good variety. The pancakes are iconic and a must try. They are the perfect balance of fluffy, sweet, savoury, buttery, and everything you want in a pancake. The food quality is excellent, portion sizes are generous, and prices are very reasonable.
The matcha and coffee are great, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is kind and friendly. It does get quite busy, so be prepared to wait, but it is well worth it for one of the best brunches I have had.

Scouting lineups from the previous week on Notre Dame,September Cafe was a must try. From Google description, this hip relaxed cafe is accurately described.
it's nice to be 30 years older
than the oldest person in the mosh pit line up. Waiting time is irrelevant when the vibe is right. Allexa at the cash is quintessential of the staff, smiling and receptive. Avo toast was excellent and my partner's Halloumi toast was even better. Salads look great Two lattes were made with the familiar flower design and hit the spot. Can't wait to go back again and get back into the mosh pit line up!!
Additional; just tried Crispy Chicken Sandwich including house salad .. amazing
Additional : celebrating a wily 83 year old ladies birthday,I had her wait on the terrace in the sun among the tattoos,LGBTQ community and vapers while I stood in the modest mosh pit line up. Comped a free cookie for being me and the ladies birthday. Lattes and avo toast were excellent, staff could not be more friendly and efficient. Birthday girls white hair remained white regarding youthful styles. sooo much fun.

Waited outside in the cold for a good half hour in a civil line up with fake eye lashes, lip gloss, nose jewelry and most fashionable overcoats. The door person coordinating entry was totally on top of everything from people wanting take out to delays where all in a table were not yet in attendance. To my surprise, the inside configuration had changed. The mosh pit inside line ups were gone. The standing gawkers were gone, the aisles free for the wait staff to clean tables for the in line (not online) clients with their pressed noses against the glass door entrance. Mushroom toast, salmon soup, spicey tomato soup and latte with flowery love were excellent. Cafe Septembre is a pleasurable experience in every respect.

They were really sweet and found me a spot despite the fact that I came 30 minutes before closing (they’re super busy so 30 minutes is last minute); the pancakes were delicious and the drink was fresh! Def recommend
