We stopped by Café des Amis at Mont Royal and had an Americano and hot chocolate on a cold day, which was the perfect choice. The drinks were hearty and comforting, making the chilly weather much more enjoyable. The café itself has a great location, nestled in a vibrant part of Mont Royal, and is a much-needed spot for a warm drink when you’re out and about. It’s a cozy and welcoming place, definitely worth visiting when you’re in the area!
We went here just to use the bathroom but had to buy something so we got a chai latté. We were happy they had alternative milks. The guy serving us though, dear God, was he ever angry and mean with no smile. Every customer seem like they were bothering him. Café des amis? Not so friendly!

Tired and unsmiling staff, disillusioned, sad atmosphere...we feel that there is no support, but also that there is no commitment...only the atmosphere of the chalet relieves the service which is really absent and rather mediocre...to correct the tourists present all seemed desperate...

Café Des Amis on Mont-Royal is more than just a café; it's a delightful retreat that offers excellent food and drink, exceptional service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Whether you're in the mood for a quiet cup of coffee or looking to engage with the local community, this café is a must-visit.

A very good range of choices, whether in terms of drinks (coffees, smoothies, etc.) or pastries and pastries. I recommend :-)

Had the best soy milk london fog ever! The building itself can use some help renovation wise and bathrooms should definitely be open to the public due to its location on the mount.

Today and also last week I had to ask for someone to serve me. It was raining today. I am the only customer at the time. Four staff. I am standing at the cash. Servers are chatting or scrolling on their phone. Cash person sits on windowsill, knows I am there but doesn't respond. Perhaps they don't see an old person- me. I ask for help. Get served. I bring up the issue. Just get blank faces from staff. One server is amused.

Has to visit this place due to compulsion. We were visiting Mont Royal as a family. On our way back from the sightseeing terrace, our 5 year old daughter had to go to washroom. The person working there said washroom is only for their customers and we have to buy something first to use washroom. Haven’t observed such discourteous behaviour in ages. We bought few juices and then my daughter went to their washroom. Didn’t have any idea that people working there or administration of the place have such low manners. Will never visit this place and of course we don’t recommend this place.

(Translated by Google) The toilets have been out of use for over a year. It's just unacceptable.(When we see in addition the price of parking, there could be toilets in operation, it's just the minimum)(Original)Les toilettes sont hors d'usage depuis plus d'un an. C'est juste inadmissible.(Quand on voit en plus le prix du parking, il pourrait y avoir des toilettes en fonctionnement, c'est juste le minimum)

The only bad hot chocolate I've ever had in Canada. The men's restroom is a shabby trailer outside with broken toilets and non-functioning water.

good for snack, bad for lunch bc there is barely any lunch choices and salads and quiche were both not available. the menu is written in chalk but they can't even be bothered to update it when food goes out of stock. Slow service typical of Montreal.
