Small place, food was ok. Nothing really impressive.

Two days in a row I put in an order to find it was not made because their system is broken. If you can’t take the order shut down the system.

Decided to try it for the first time because of the rave reviews. Will likely be the last, I don’t understand how it has 5 stars, it’s suspicious. Went in person after a haircut. It wasn’t crowded because of the snow storm. Just ordered a ceasar salad and it took 25 minutes for it to come out (see photo for proof, time shown on payment receipt vs on my phone when it came out). I joked with my friend it must be the best salad in the world to justify this wait. But no, it was just regular. While eating there I saw someone else come back and complain that they ordered a rice bowl but was given a poke bowl. Clearly I wasn’t the only disappointed customer that day.

Food is alright. Basic breakfast without special flavor, good only in a pickle.

Through this exchange, I let you judge the personality and professionalism of this “chef”:
I visited this little cafe for the first time, I asked for an avocado toast, when I was served my toast, there was only avocado on it, but part of it, almost the half, was blackened and gray. I showed it to the boss and said:
Look, a lot of the avocado is damaged.

He replied:
I can't control this. These are the lawyers we receive. I can't open them before serving to see the inside. The avocado comes from Mexico, and that's out of my control.

I replied to him:
You are nevertheless responsible for the quality of what you serve to your customers. As you can see, this avocado cannot be consumed as is.

With an arrogant tone, he said to me:
I have been a chef for 17 years, and I can assure you that people eat avocado even if it is black.

I replied calmly:
Maybe, but I never eat the blackened parts of an avocado. At home, when I see damaged parts, I remove them with a spoon and only keep the areas that are still fresh and green.

He insisted in a smug tone:
I don’t know… I’ve been a chef for 17 years, and that’s how it’s eaten.

At that moment, I decided to give the plate back to him and said:
Fine, in that case I'll have an omelette instead.

When he brought me the note, I asked him:
We would have to deduct the price of the avocado toast that I didn’t eat.

He flatly refused, saying:
No, it was you who decided not to eat it. I will not refund you.

This place is awesome, I had a chicken sandwich and a home made banana bread pudding it was OUT OF THIS world, would highly recommend it and Mitch the chef is an absolute gem, very courteous and accommodating

I have been getting my hair cut at Deauville for years but the last few times i decided to try the Bistro...the Chef (i think he said his name was Mitch) is unreal....this guy makes a world class sandwich and coffee....i i highly recommend this place!
