I recently visited this sushi restaurant and had a mixed experience overall. The ambiance was a definite highlight—stylish, relaxing, and perfect for a date night.
In terms of food, it was a bit hit-or-miss. The otoro nigiri stood out as exceptional—buttery, fresh, and beautifully presented. Comparable to ones I’ve had in Japan. Unfortunately, the sashimi was underwhelming, lacking the flavor and texture you’d expect at this price point. The maki rolls were decent but enjoyable enough.
The main drawback was the slow service. While the staff was polite, the wait times between courses felt too long, especially for a Monday night. The server also didn’t bring soy sauce or wasabi/ginger the entire night.
Final verdict: Come for the ambiance and the otoro, but manage your expectations on the rest of the menu and service speed.

So happy I discovered hidden fish because it is by far the best Sushi in Montreal. It is a vibrant yet cozy spot with an extensive and authentic Japanese menu. There was not one menu item ordered that lacked flavour or tasted generic. Each roll and sashimi ordered was unique and presentation was spot on. A must visit spot.

Awesome experience. I took my daughter who was fairly new to sushi. The waiter helped choose a menu to push some of her boundaries. Everything was amazing - a bit pricey but an experience that I'll remember for a long time!
