I honestly don’t really leave reviews and when I do, I do my best to never leave a 1 star review because all places have their upsides but this place was something else. The food was terrible and they had insanely bad customer service, the cashier was very rude. To paint the picture, I had gotten bubble tea earlier from another store and they had forgotten my straws, the shop was a bit of a walk away and it was super hot that day so I thought it was no problem, I’ll just go downstairs to get some straws elsewhere and I saw that this shop sold bubble tea. I didn’t want to be rude and just get straws for free so I grabbed a box of sushi before walking up to the cashier to ask for some straws to go with it. When I was paying for the sushi, I said verbatim, “oh sorry, could I also get 4 straws please?” And I got the rudest stare from the cashier and she questions me, “what are you using them for?” in a very rude and accusatory tone. Which took me off guard with how mean she was. So I explained my situation and was just like “oh I just got bubble tea earlier but they forgot the straws” and she said “you didn’t get a drink from here so I can’t give you any straws.” I was kinda shocked, lowkey it was just 4 straws, so I asked if it still wasn’t ok to get the straws even if I’m buying the box of sushi, and she turns and yells to someone in the back to ask if I’m allowed to have straws and to also tell them that I didn’t buy any drinks here in Chinese but I can understand Chinese. And the person in the back yells back to charge me so she turns around and unhappily says that I need to pay for the straws on top of the $20 box of sushi. There was like 8 sushi pieces in there too and 90% of the box was vegetarian and also didn’t have any condiments but a pack of soy sauce. Her tone was very rude and condescending the entire time and the kicker was that the sushi tasted terrible. It was somehow bitter and it was completely flavourless without being drenched in soy sauce. Biggest waste of money in my life and some god awful customer service. I’d get it if she wasn’t allowed to give me straws because of her boss, nothing she could do if her boss was like that, but there was no reason to speak to me the way she did and in such a tone when I did my best to be polite and it was just over 4 paper straws. Paywalled like 5 cents worth of straws. Also I waited 25 mins in line for someone to take my order and there was exactly 3 people in front of me.

I tried to not leave a review despite lacklustre meals at this place in the past. Service really depends on who is there and they get an average grade for that. The sushi was simply tasteless the first few times but it was wrong in every way this last weekend. Half of it went to the trash bin. It’s not even cheaper than at a restaurant where they know how to make proper sushi. It’s just very conveniently located and they are definitely riding on that.

Terrible food, not fresh, disgusting presentation. Nothing looks like the menu's photos. Pokes are just a big bowl of stale rice sprinkled with tasteless toppings.
The food served looked nothing like the menu and the taste was underwhelming. I wish it weren't the case but I have nothing positive to say about the food.

I try my best not give 1 star ratings but sometimes you don't have a choice. Starting off, the place looks super nice and the menu looks great. Then, it took 40min to make an order for one person and when I got it it looked absolutely nothing like the menu. Not only that, the fish (both salmon and tuna) did not taste fresh whatsoever. And on top of that, some of the rolls were just not good, like they just didn't taste good. Really disappointed, I would recommend eating somewhere else

Tried the Philly sushi here. It’s pretty good. They serve 5 in a plate and it’s fulfilling for one person.

I went there during Otakuthon, and the convention was amazing ? As for the food, I found a pretty thick bone in my Vancouver roll, a pretty serious choking hazard. With that being said, the service was good, and the food was okay.

This location is better than most others. Very clean. Super nice staff.
Clearly the owner of this franchise cares about his employees and clients. I even feel my rolls look nicer and fresher than the other branches of sushi shop
