It was very very good a few months agoBut unfortunately for a while the quality has really declined.There are fewer ingredients in certain dishes and especially the salsas which were excellent, creamy and tasty before, have become quite mediocre, flatly liquid and too salty.It was for me and my Mexican friend the best Mexican restaurant in Montreal, but since these changes we no longer see the point of paying for a $20 dish that has now become so commonplace.

I recently had a takeout experience at Tacos Lakalaka Hochelaga that was disappointing for a couple of significant reasons. Firstly, it became apparent that the burritos are likely pre-frozen. The clear giveaway was that everything besides the meat—cream, onions, guacamole, etc.—was provided separately, not integrated into the burrito itself. One would wonder why these wouldn’t be included directly within the burrito unless it’s pre-made and frozen.Secondly, the tipping expectations set by the establishment are unreasonably high, with the default options starting at 15% but going up to an astounding 30% (which is the first option). Expecting a 30% tip for a meal that seems to lack the fresh, made-to-order quality undermines the essence of gratuity, especially when the product does not meet expectations.While I appreciate the convenience of takeout, the quality and service expectations at Tacos Lakalaka Hochelaga leave much to be desired. It’s disheartening, as I had hoped for a better experience.

The food is very delicious, I love going, but the presentations of the drinks change often, which can benefit or harm a good presentation and ease for the consumer.Example; 1 liter horchata waterIt can be served in a blender glass or in a large glass.?I prefer the glass ?
I delivered takeout. We got tacos, fajitas and guacamole, and everything was SO GOOD. Our order was packed efficiently and the flavours and textures absolutely held up, though I don't live in the area. I'll definitely order again!

I ordered the Gringas - they were epic! I crave mexican food so much but the options in Montréal are usually terrible. Except for this restaurant ! :)Highly recommended.Only small complaint- I wish they update their hours on Google Maps. I visited another day and some painting and rénovation was going on. But on Google Maps it said they were open.
