Truly not one of my best experiences in a Mexican style restaurant. The tortilla chips were thick, and too hard to eat. The nachos, made with the same chips, were even worse.
The place has a nice Vibe, but between the almost rude service, and the lousy food, I don't think I'll be coming back ever.
Terrace season is finally here in Montreal
and we’re kicking it off right at Tacos Victor.
Fresh guacamole is creamy and fresh, served with perfectly crispy homemade corn chips and a bright ceviche, with tender fish and shrimp marinated in lime juice, cilantro, and onions. All sunshine-approved! 🌮☀️
Despite the nice decor and the vibrant environment, this place fails on many counts. Starting with the server who really seemed as though she wanted to be anywhere but at work that day, to the food which was not even possible, tacos Victor was a less than pleasant experience.
We started our night by ordering two mains and two drinks. Our two mains arrived very quickly. Yet, no beverages were served. We asked where the drinks were, and were told there's only one bar man and he's backed up by 15 minutes. We canceled the drinks.
Although we informed the server the ceviche was the large plate, we were served the small portion, and the server insisted it was the large. Yet, on the bill it was billed as a small.
The tortillas served with the ceviche were too thick, oily, and hard as a rock. They were barely edible. The nachos were served with the same tortillas except they had the benefit of picking up some of the moisture from the salsa, and became thick, hard and leathery, and barely edible. Add to this the small amount of barely melted cheese, and the sparse garnish, and these nachos qualify as some of the worst sold in Montreal.
From service to food, the experience at tacos. Victor is something which should only be endured by a masochist. This is a hard pass for me.
Surprisingly, considering the proximity of a number of other Taco joints, you would figure that they would take more care to differentiate themselves by excelling over the neighboring competition.
I like Quesadilas (Gringa)
I really appreciate this place. Their food makes me feel like home. Knowing that nothing will be like eating Mexican food in Mexico, this place definitely helps me feel less homesick 💚🤍❤️
Great music, really yummy salsas and tacos 🌮 I love taco boxes, especially with nopales on the side.
The tongue tacos are to die for...we also ordered the fish and shrimp ceviches, and both were delicious.
I think they need a couple of options like soups and others to feel like it's a place I could go any day, but I understand that their main menu is "tacos" and not Mexican food in general... we will definitely keep coming back ...

The tacos are spot on--love the fries inside. I docked a star because I'm old and it was too loud. If you like noise and mariachi, you'll love it here on a Friday night.
On a quiet Sunday afternoon this place is a five star jobber for us old folks who like to hear ourselves talk.

They sent my Uber eats order in an open box. It was NOT in a bag NOR wrapped in any way. When I opened the door I found an open box of food. There is no way Im eating food that was exposed. It is not safe for many reasons!! DO BETTER and protect your customers!!

How disappointing. Thia used to be my go to pace for some yummy Mexican. Did take out tonight of guac, ceviche and tacos. The guac was watered down or they added a filller, tacos were dry and the ceviche was way too lemony. I'll think twice before returning.

2 tacos are more than enough. Beer is a little pricey but tacos are affordable.

After all the good comments, our expectations were high... Big disappointment. The tacos are dry, no marinade for the meats and shrimp, even the tortillas are bad. Avoid at all costs.
