I have a challenging allergy and they were able to manage it with no issues. Everything was delicious.
The lighting in the restaurant was too bright and did not provide for an intimate setting. Tables were incredibly close and with the noise level of the restaurant made it hard to hear each other. Our server was amazing and certainly made our experience better. As for the food, the filet was overcooked, and fingerling potatoes that accompanies the duck were hard.
Service was extremely slow, and it appeared to be the same for diners around us. Restaurant was very loud, possibly due to hard surfaces/rock walls. Food was okay.
Cozy ambiance very good food and great service. I had the prix fixe menu and chose the beet entree and scallops for my main. My husband enjoyed the French onion soup and duck. Portions were generous and tasty. Would recommend.
Delicious food from the menu in MTL À la table. However, sangrias are quite pricier than in other places.
Well, our server Ludo was fantastic, as always. He has been exceptional every time. However, the removal of the breakfast poutine from the menu crushed my dreams. I come to this restaurant once a year, and this was very sad. :( I will still come here, and please keep Ludo forecer. <3
A very nice spot with excellent food. A bit pricey, a bit noisy around the bar. Very good service, despite the crowds.
Nicholas made me a proper Paper Plane and commiserated with the fact that my country has lost its mind.

The food and service were amazing. Our server Dominic helped us pick from their menu & we were delighted. Especially the beef cheeks with amazing risotto, and the octopus with black garlic aioli. Wonderful to have such a friendly and upbeat server. I will say, the team of servers were fabulous, especially Christian, a young guy who I watched carry up trays of meals from downstairs, often 7 dishes on a tray on his shoulders and 2 plates on the other arm! It was astounding! Then delivering them all so quickly to guests to serve warm - he was an incredibly hard working guy. Well done to all of them, and food outstanding!

I was disappointed with the food at Gaspar. I was hoping for great French cuisine but this fell short. Plenty of better French restaurants in Montreal. The best item we got was the French onion soup. Also had the beef cheek and the duck confit. While the beef cheek itself was very tender, it was sitting in a pool of under seasoned risotto that they covered in melted cheese (why ruin a risotto by covering it in melted cheese??). The duck itself was also tender, but under seasoned with a side salad with what tasted like store-bought thousand island salad dressing. A more elegant vinaigrette would have been better. The snail and bone marrow appetizer was interesting—but again fell short of what could have been a better appetizer had they simply done either snails in garlic or bone marrow on its own. Wouldn’t go back.

Food was “OK”. Charcuterie board came with meat turning brown. The Bison tartare was quite good though. Ordered dessert but never got it, staff was too busy serving the 2 girls beside us who were influencers who didn’t have anything to pay. Play wrong to me!

Gorgeous building and old decor perfectly located in the old Montreal.
We made reservations for that Friday night, which was good as it got really busy quickly.
We were seated without delay, it was nice and quiet when we first got there as there were few tables taken. It was a very different story about one hour later. We could hardly hear each other talk. Perhaps partly due to the low ceilings, the very close proximity of the tables, or the fact that we had a large table of at least 10 beside us.
We truly enjoyed our meals, they were tasty. We started the meal with their Fromages & Charcuterie Board. The cheeses were delicious! It was a perfect size to share between three people.
We followed with Steak de Chou-Fleur, Burger de Boeuf, and the Steak.
Our waiter was bilingual which was nice as one of us didn’t speak French.
It can be challenging finding parking near by, there are a number of paying lots in the area though, some more expensive than others. Read the reviews first!! Most are also not very big, if you come during busy times, you may have to park a good 15-20 minute walk away which is not too bad as Old Montreal is gorgeous to walk through in good weather.
