The food and service were amazing. Our server Dominic helped us pick from their menu & we were delighted. Especially the beef cheeks with amazing risotto, and the octopus with black garlic aioli. Wonderful to have such a friendly and upbeat server. I will say, the team of servers were fabulous, especially Christian, a young guy who I watched carry up trays of meals from downstairs, often 7 dishes on a tray on his shoulders and 2 plates on the other arm! I was disappointed with the food at Gaspar. I was hoping for great French cuisine but this fell short. Plenty of better French restaurants in Montreal. The best item we got was the French onion soup. Also had the beef cheek and the duck confit. While the beef cheek itself was very tender, it was sitting in a pool of under seasoned risotto that they covered in melted cheese (why ruin a risotto by covering it in melted cheese??).
