We arrived at 4:20 p.m. on a Saturday, it's supposed to be open until 5 p.m. and we were told it was closing... bitterly cold outside and a person with reduced mobility with us. Honestly not cool! I won't go back there.

"A Charming Montreal Breakfast Spot: Tommy's Cafe" Tommy's Cafe is a delightful spot for breakfast in Montreal. The ambiance is charming with a distinct retro vibe, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Service was exceptional, and the staff was very accommodating to non-French speakers, making communication a breeze. The food was fantastic! The menu creatively utilizes ciabatta bread in a variety of dishes, adding a unique touch. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast croissant, which featured an authentic French taste and was further enhanced by the addition of a perfectly cooked egg. We also tried the lox and stellina, and appreciated the inclusion of salmon rolls alongside the lox. Overall, Tommy's Cafe is a highly recommended breakfast destination in Montreal.

We came in, 4 -5 mins later a server came and stated he would be taking orders for drinks only. (In English) then 15 minutes later we got our 2 filtered coffee and one latte. When the same server came and asked for the order for food, he was speaking french.. his demeanour and tone was very rude and unprofessional. He said his colleague is bringing the drinks, i said we’re not ordering food( because he was very rude and it took FOREVER) and asked again, where are the drinks… he said “As i said! My colleague is bringing it” i said ok. 1 min later the coffee came, not hot … medium temp almost baby milk warmth… lol this is ridiculous, its not like i put cream or milk.. ITS BLACK COFFEE… Dont believe the rating like we did, the atmosphere is nice but service is terrible .

The food was great; I had an Aurora, which was really delicious, the beagle was quite hard tho.
The service was fantastic, our waitress was really professional and friendly. She spoke with us a mix of Spanish, French and English.

Wonderful cafe .. amazingly was not busy for the first time I've ever seen..so it was our first time eating there, what a delight..the food is top notch..the vibe is truly Old Montréal. The server Paula was friendly and attentive...overall a great experience, highly recommend

25 minutes of waiting for breakfast, without even having the coffee to wait. If you cannot provide the service under correct conditions, either you hire staff or you reduce the number of seats. I left without getting my order. I will not return and I strongly advise against it during weeks, weekends, holidays or any busy period. Lamentable.
