As a solo dinner, I’ve never felt more comfortable than dining at Trattoria Testavere. This fine Italian restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Montreal on Crescent street down the block from Ste. Catherine. The atmosphere is welcoming and Mauro, the owner makes you feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. But most important is the food and service you get. The restaurant has a nice “homey” vibe. The service is amazing. The food, in my opinion, is basic. I had the Risotto Pescatora. The sauce was really good. The risotto tasted like normal rice and it contained very little seafood. If I remember correctly, it had 3 shrimps, 3 squids and although I’m sure there was other seafood options in it, I couldn’t see any….. I guess the pieces weee too small.
