Delicious food and great ambience. We got two appetizers and mains plus a dessert, so price was high but expected and definitely worth it. Definitely recommend the poutine with duck confit and the maple pudding!

Stopped in for dinner after a long travel day. Sat at the bar where Tom served me. He was great, conversational and very quick. Had an excellent meal, the spicy beef tartare and the seafood risotto, they were fantastic. Left to continue my track out of town to find my rental car had been broke into. I came back the Vallier Bistro to find a warm spot to file a police report. Upon hearing my predicament Tom and his manager Will were beyond kind and gracious. They allowed me to post up for pushing 2 hours just to try to figure out my situation. They both offered their support helping me file a police report half in French (native and only English speaker here), allowed me to sit past closing so as not to put me out in the cold and just in general were very kind and supportive. Truly above and beyond and then some. Highly, highly recommend for their food and even more so for their service. Thank you both again, and to whomever reads these, please give these men a huge and deserved raise, it’s hard to find that quality of service anywhere.

This is a beautiful restaurant with excellent service - friendly and efficient without being too fussy.
The food was excellent. Coffees were spectacular and they have a nice wine list.
We sat at a tale but there is a fabulous bar with plenty of seating also.

The place prioritizes style over substance. Great decor, good wine, ok food and sassy service. Not a memorable experience.

We have had the most wonderful dinner at Vallier tonight! I can’t decide whether the service, food, or atmosphere was better because they were all elite. Best time ever and we can’t wait to be back. Merci à Romain: he was the best and the rest of the team were outstanding and we thank them for making this important evening so special for us - one that we will not soon forget.

We're a couple of Kiwis who had an early dinner at Vallier Bistro while in Montreal in October. Food was excellent. Cocktails were great. Service was confident and very accomplished, especially for a team that looked quite young. If we're ever in Montreal again, we'll be back.

The food and wine by the glass were all excellent. The service was good with a new enthusiastic waiter. The atmosphere was ok.

Ridiculously overpriced French bistro with mediocre food. $25 for a caesar salad. $26 for a mac and cheese which isn’t much better than a Kraft mac and cheese you can buy at Provigo for $2. It’s also $29 for a burger WITHOUT any fries. Fries are EXTRA. What a ripoff. Run of the mill food for stupid prices. Go to L’Express on Saint Denis for an authentic French Bistro instead.

All the boxes are checked! Food, service and ambiance. And the pricing is affordable comparing to the other restaurants in old port area. Highly recommended.

The space is beautiful and the vibe is very welcoming. We really enjoyed the food. In fact the escargot was the best I've ever had. The onion soup was also the best I've had as well.
Unfortunately we were ignored largely because of a large table behind us. We are intown for my mother's birthday and planned to drink and eat for a long time. But we had everything we ordered on the table super fast all together and never was asked if we wanted another drink. We could have spent all night in such a great place but we're rushed out in under an hour. It was only a monday night. On a Monday night, a table of 3 should be treated like a table of 8. We sat at the table with no food and no drinks for 15 minutes waiting for a check.

Where do I start... This place was recommended by our hotel... Most memorable, duck confit add on for the poutine, way too salty to a point it tasted bitter... Everything else was blend....
Coquille saint-laurent tasted like a canned clam chowder... Truffle fries had no truffle taste, gravy on the poutine tasted like Costco gravy... Take a look at the picture of the beef tartar... Waiter forgot our steak... Friday night, half empty, definitely won't return or recommend...

Randomly stopped in to Vallier for a bite to eat and was attracted to the decor. We had the fish of the day and the pasta of the day and were pleased with both. We shared the fennel salad with salmon and this was definitely the highlight. We had bad timing arriving just behind a party of 18 but William took great care of us and we never minded a bit.
