A friend and I just spent 5 days in the city and came upon this amazing place! Mohammad, David, Andrea, Carla and Shaun, along with the rest of the staff, we're nothing short of wonderful. The hospitality, customer service, quality of cocktails and food were top knotch and kept us coming back! Strongly recommend sitting at the bar. Amazing vibe, all around. Tried the gyoza, tuna tartare, French toast, and Duck confit ragu. Mouth watering!
My go to place after a nice shopping at Holt, but not anymore.
‘We don’t have dessert menu, but if you just want coffee and dessert, you can go to the cafe over there’
‘We don’t have coffee machines here’
‘If you wanna drink you can stay here’
Feeling astonished that we were literally kicked out, I told the host, who was empathetic and kind enough that I believe she told the manager what happened.
Waiting at the fireplace for 15+min, no one came to talk to us, but I did see the manger talking and walking around, and when I followed up—
‘Sorry the manager left, he had an emergency’
‘A lot of emergency huh?’ I asked,
‘Yes, we’re quite busy’
Well, I guess we’re too peasant looking to afford food and drinks, and our coffee tips are too little to waste their precious time. But now I know the coffee served after the meal might just be instant coffee as I realized the restaurant doesn’t have coffee machine to make one.
We came from the hotel and the breakfast was absolutely amazing the service was a little

YAMA is a Japenese restaurant located in Vogue Hotel. This was a convenient and easy option for us since we stayed at Vogue. We dined at YAMA our first evening and were pleasantly surprised. The menu had many vegetarian options for us, which we appreciated. Even for a Sunday evening, the bar and restaurant were steadily busy.
We ordered:
Starters: edamame and vegetable gyoza. The edamame was classic. The vegetable gyoza were cooked crispy and was served in a shallow bowl with a coriander infused citrus sauce. It was tasty, and balanced well.
Small plate/side: midori no ha maki roll is a vegetarian roll with fresh veggies, wrapped in lettuce as opposed to traditional seaweed. It was a simple roll with a burst of freshness. We ordered the truffle fries because our server said they were amazing. They did not disappoint.
Entree: we ordered the roasted eggplant for our entree. We did not know what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised. The eggplant is cooked so well that it melts in your mouth. It was topped various wild mushrooms cooked differently (i.e. some crispy). It was a mild dish packed with a lot of flavor.
Dessert: For dessert we ordered the chocolate praline mousse. This was insane. Imagine a hard chocolate shell bomb with a mousse filling. The exterior was a chocolate and hazelnut shell. This dessert satisfies all cravings: chocolate, crunchy, and crispy.
We were very pleased with the vegetarian options at YAMA.
The only downside is the price. You are paying hotel prices to dine here, but that should be expected.

A year ago I stayed in vogue for 5 days. I went pass the restaurant recently and recalled the worst hotel restaurant experience I’ve ever experienced so far.
I met with my friends and treated them the omakase course. But the steak was super disappointing. Then I told the waiter that my steak was overcooked and was too hard to chew. The waiter with a super boss attitude told me it’s an omakase they can’t do anything about it. I mean like I’ve traveled around the world it’s the first time ever a waiter taught me what I should like and what a steak temperature should be. I just want something else.
But I still tried to ask for a medium rare steak at least, yet after waiting for half an hour I got a raw meat plate instead. That’s funny, apparently their super boss chef was pissed too just like their waiter somehow was. And yes I got the plate but no utensils, the boss waiter left me there for another 15 minutes no one attended even I waved, embarrassing me in front of my friends. The meal ended very badly with such awful staffs inside the restaurant.
The meal cost us $1200, I still tipped. It’s a five stars hotel restaurant but staff was still like small people in small town.
Update: My mistake, it’s a 4 star hotel not 5. Just avoid it.

Decent food, good location, nice place. BUT very very expensive for what you get. Not worth at all the price vs. Quality. Verdict : no go.

The service was excellent; attentive, informed and not overbearing. Food was solid enough. Not a cheap place.

Sarah Al Hajj Ali was a fantastic host and impromptu concierge for our short trip in Montreal. She greeted us every day as Vogue Hotel guests and provided fantastic recommendations for nights out in the city. Thank you very much, Sarah.

Wagyu steak was outstanding: done medium-rare, attractively-presented, and every morsel a delight. Even the grilled vegetables with it were excellent. My biggest gripe was the limited portion size, but I suppose you’re meant to eat multiple courses. Service was fine, but nothing remarkable.

Recently visited Yama in Montreal for a special event, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The atmosphere was lively and elegant, perfectly matched by a thoughtfully curated wine pairing that elevated every bite. The sushi? Absolutely divine—fresh, artfully presented, and bursting with flavor.
From start to finish, the experience was seamless and memorable. Yama knows how to turn a meal into a celebration. Can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu.

We were assigned a table by the hostess on the terrasse for an evening drink. Despite several staff moving around and the place being far from busy, no one came to take our order (not even to offer water)for more than 20 minutes.
We eventually left, completely ignored. No one seemed to notice or care.
The décor is beautiful and the location is central.
