I went there during the week with friends and even though the bar was almost empty the atmosphere was cool! The bartender was super friendly, we even got free shots 2-3 times and we were lent a board game. It wasn’t the first time I went there, and I’m definitely going to go back ?

Very cool atmosphere, I stayed a short time but I really enjoyed it. Very good cider, when we asked him for a shooter that he couldn't make due to lack of ingredients, the waiter suggested we prepare a surprise one that looked similar. Very nice surprise it was very good!

I hesitated to write a comment after the visit last Saturday but even after a few days I'm still thinking about it so here it is. Having Breton family, we wanted to try the event with the pancakes offered. We unfortunately missed the crepes since we left the restaurant where we were a little late.We arrive at the bar, cash only. Okay, ATM inside, we withdraw money.When we got to the bar, Jade gave us disgusting service. We ordered 3 beers at the counter to bring to our table because the bar was packed and no table service.She serves the beers, we pay and she says the typical phrase we say to newcomers "Uuhh you know that the tip is not included in the bill?". So I told her that the tip is for the service, she served the beers but it is up to us to bring them to our table. I ask her if she will bring them to our table to get her tip and she tells me no.I was with my family so I didn't want to argue with her but seriously this tip culture has gone to her head too much. Relax. I gave her $1 to satisfy her.It was 9 p.m. and people were already drunk so good luck getting to your table with the beers intact!I would never go back there again.Peace out.

Bar génial!! Super ambiance!! Super service (shoutout à Jade et Phil)! On se sent à la maison au Yer Mad! Petit bémol, quelques temps avant la fermeture, la porte principale se fait barrer pour ne pas que de nouvelles personnes entrent, ce qui nous oblige à aller à la porte arrière, mais celle-ci est souvent coincée, ce qui n'est pas très sécuritaire en cas d'urgence....

Amazing, warm, friendly local bar. Ordered a beer and sat at the bar with my back to the wall and a good view of the door - an old habit I especially employ in new places/countries, nothing to do with the vibe in the bar, just how I work in somwhere new! Upon serving me the guy behind the bar allowed me a few minutes to take in my surroundings and get started on my beer. Soon it became apparent that the guys at the bar were all regulars and everyone in the place knew each other. After a polite interval the bar tender, obviously seeing I was not a local, introduced himself to me as Richard and struck up conversation, with genuine interest in what I was doing in Montreal. It was only minutes before we were laughing and joking and talking music and travel and everything else. He even bought me shots, with himself and the rest of the people at the bar. I was made to feel extremely welcome and felt right at home! If you want a local bar experience in a warm and inviting atmosphere, good drinks and great staff, then this place is a must visit!
