Ramens lacked texture and flavour, service couldn’t read the room. Music was loud and the food was pricey for what it was.
I got dinner here around 6. There wasn’t any wait so I was seated immediately. The atmosphere is cool, pretty dark and a nice Japanese vibe. The staff was very friendly too. I got chicken Raman with chicken broth with thin noodles and a whole egg. The portion sizes were very generous. There was a lot more meat than I expected and lots of noodles. It all tasted good. It wasn’t gorme but I was more than satisfied. I paid about $21 (+$1 for another half an egg) so I think it was good value for the amount of food I got.
We had dinner here at 5pm on a Friday. No line to get in and was promptly seated. The restaurant was small and my husband and I were put in a seat facing the wall which was fine. The restaurant was dark and hot. Hot because they are literally cooking the food with fire right in front of you! Which is awesome. I hate when ramen comes out warm/hot. This came out extremely hot which is perfect.
I ordered the sesame broth with normal salt and chicken teriyaki. The broth was nice and creamy. They put HUGE pieces of chicken in the soup. I was actually shocked. It was all very filling. If you aren’t absolutely starving or aren’t the type of person to have a big appetite, you can share one bowl with two people. $22 for that much food was great.
The service was great and the food came out quick. Clean big washrooms as well.
This spot is clearly popular and tends to stay busy. Unfortunately, the service during my visit was lacking. After being seated, we waited 25 minutes without anyone checking in. It wasn’t overly busy at the time, and we eventually had to ask the host if a server would be coming by.
When the food arrived, it was fine—nothing standout, and not something I’d put on a “must-try” list for the area. I might have gone in with higher expectations for the flavours, but overall the experience felt average. For me, the food didn’t make up for the awkward service.
Your mouth becomes a playground for all the flavour from the ramen here. Expect small but cozy seating, limited too so you will have a wait even on a weekday evening. No alcohol, but the restaurant next door which has the same owner it seems, does. Can't help but think we could have had the same ramen there too.
Love this place for its amazing sesame broth and tender noodles. The taste is always there. The ambiance is similar to Tokyo izakayas, tight but enjoyable. My favourite ramen place.
Went for lunch today. Easily the worst ramen my wife and I have ever had (worse than Kinton, yes I said it). Soup and ingredients were cold, ramen noodles were hot but very soggy. The soup was extremely thick like a very heavy sauce, and there was almost no soup at all in the bowl. Basically seemed like day old reheated ramen. The pork was also cold and the fat was hard and chewy. The korokke was delicious though... I'm sure it was an off day and they're normally better but it was a rough first experience here. Been to 7 other ramen places around Montreal and many more in Toronto.

Incredible ramen, perhaps the best in Montreal. The only small problem is the wait: 30 minutes in line each time. But hey, that’s the price to pay when it’s more popular than a free concert!

It was very good, on the other hand, is it normal that I only fart? The guy behind us dropped a box, it wasn't sustainable, we had to leave the restaurant.

A place where you can eat excellent ramen... On the other hand, only 2 stars because when we signed up for the inevitable queue that there is in the evening, we asked to be 3 at a table, alone. After 1 hour and 20 minutes of waiting, we found ourselves forced to agree to sit at the bar, lined up.... so when it came to a friendly meal while chatting, we had to look elsewhere!!!!. You will take the opportunity to watch the chefs work.
Damage.

Good ramen in Montreal. I tried this place out during a 2 day stint in the city due to its’ high amount of reviews and I was happy with the option.
The broth was solid, along with pretty delicious noodles that tasted very fresh. The meat was good as well. I didn’t really like the spoon situation as drinking the broth at our tiny 2 person booth was a little… like annoying. But it LoOkS tRaDiTiOnAl. Whatever.
The chicken karaage was good too, but definitely not like a “must get.” We should’ve gotten a small plate for me and my girlfriend because the chicken was loaded on the tiny plate and kept tipping over, with not a lot of chopstick power.
Other than those tiny points, I would come back again to get my ramen fix in the city.

favourite ramen place in the plateau. The only problem is the long wait and the server not always friendly

The building is very large, but as there are many subdivisions, it avoids the cacophony of large spaces.
Perfect and friendly service, young and dynamic team.
We had custom ramen via the check menu.
Everything was delicious!
