The coffee tasted like the beans had been burnt. When I gingerly approached the owner, thinking that he would appreciate knowing, and I gently explained my concern, he totally turned on me. He grabbed my cup and saucer and threw it across the counter. He was so abrasive and nasty. There are incredibly wonderful cafés in the neighbourhood. We shouldn't be supporting arrogance and aggression.
Edit: Thank you for responding to me and for your offer. I believe that you mistook the date of my visit as being the same as the date that I wrote the review. In fact, the incident took place on Sunday September 21, 2025 (and I wrote the review 6 weeks later). There were three people working behind the counter that afternoon: a young woman, a young man and a man who looked like he was in his 50s. I first thought that I would speak with the young woman, as she had originally served me, but the older man stepped in and took over, so I explained my concern to him, and he then reacted as I described above.

The coffee was strong and tasty, the five dollar ost cookie, way over priced. I asked a man who possibly was the owner if it was made with butter or lard and he asked why I wanted to know. Not a question I expected to be asked.

The male barista who was working on Monday, august 5th at 1 pm, was a horribly rude employee. I had pastries from another cafe in the store that were wrapped up and he loudly and obnoxiously yelled at me in the middle of the restaurant even though I didn’t eat from those pastries. Horrible service. Ps much better nearby options

Love going here and sometimes they even let me bring in my doggie. Coffee is great. Welcoming staff. Roomy and no loud music plus their sandwiches are toasted and delicious.
They also let Lily the schnauzer do guard duty keeping out the other dogs ;)

Stumbled across this place by lucky happenstance. One of us had an Americano, the other a cappuccino. We each thought it was the best tasting coffee we’ve had in years (and more years). The jam cookie was really good too.

Tiramisu flooded with coffee and unnecessary sweet cocoa. No offense to the Italian, I like cappuccino in the afternoon. Clearly it made mx sweat. Barista. The milk was burnt. I am neither dissatisfied nor satisfied. I find $15 for a coffee cake expensive!
