Finally trying Damas, the famous upscale Syrian restaurant in Montreal! I’ve heard about this place since I was still at McGill, but unfortunately never had the chance to try. I was surprised to see how big the restaurant was; it seemed to span the entire block, and seemed like it took up the space of three restaurants.
While the taste was good, I didn’t think it was anything spectacular; nothing tasted elevated or luxurious. It was overpriced and tasting menu items were simply olives or salads or just something small. I wouldn’t recommend this place simply because of the price.

This place is unbelievable good. The food is some of the best i have ever had, and the service is outstanding. The team here assembled a custom tasting menu for us to not be too filling, but also get a chance to try so many different dishes paired with wines i never would have chosen on my own. 100% must go if you are in montreal and need something different to spice up the night.

This is a one of a kind destination restaurant! My wife and I drove 6 hours and planned our entire 10 year anniversary around going to Damas once again, it is that good! The service is impeccable, the staff is genuine, and you are treated like family! The food is absolutely incredible and the drinks are outstanding! From the management to our server (Karol I believe her name was) 10/10 across the board and by far our favorite restaurant! Must try! Thank you Damas!

Tout est toujours extraordinaire, ce n'est pas un resto pour petit budget mais tout est tellement bon que cela justife ! Qualité des ingrédients! Le seul bémol est le niveau de bruit vraiment désagréable !
J'ai invité mon amie pour son anniversaire,nous avons aimé beaucoup l'atmasphére, Mon amie a aimé les décorations ,elle n'a pas arrêter de prendre des photos. Pour le repas c'était délicieux,le service est vraiment excellent. Merci à toute l'équipe c'est sûr que j'y reviendrais souvent. Bonne continuité.

The food representation was good but the quality of the meat of the fillet mignon was so bad I couldn't even eat my food! I have never had a fillet in a restaurant that's unbeatable to me. Spent too much money and came home hungry! when I mentioned I cant eat the food nobody did actually anything.

Their Shish-taouk and lamb shank were delicious! Also tried falafel, hummus and halloumi which were pretty good! I will be coming back!

Came here on visit from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The entire service staff was amazing, with a very intentional flow, and an attention to the guest experience that made them really stand out. The tasting menu is a must, and definitely get the wine paring with it. Patrick, our waiter, was there every time we wanted him to be, with an unforgettable smile and charm. John, the sommelier, is the best one we’ve experienced. Highly knowledgeable about all things wine and pairing but also very personable. He brought a magic to the whole experience that left us simultaneously more knowledgeable about wine, but also feeling more confident in our own ability to judge and experience. This will be a regular stop whenever we come to Montreal. Worth every $$$$
