Overall, great experience! We tried the tasting menu; almost all of the courses were impeccable, flavourful, and varied. The wine pairings were spot-on and we loved hearing about the provenance of the wines. The dessert course was the only disappointment following a great meal as it was a bit underwhelming. They did comp the dessert which was a nice touch. We were celebrating our 20 year wedding anniversary, and while they did acknowledge this with a candle stuck on the dessert, honestly, we would have preferred that they just skip the acknowledgement as it felt like a bit of an afterthought. We don't normally go out for a meal of this calibre, so it was sad that the end of the meal felt like a bit of a letdown, but overall a very positive experience!

Finally trying Damas, the famous upscale Syrian restaurant in Montreal! I’ve heard about this place since I was still at McGill, but unfortunately never had the chance to try. I was surprised to see how big the restaurant was; it seemed to span the entire block, and seemed like it took up the space of three restaurants.
While the taste was good, I didn’t think it was anything spectacular; nothing tasted elevated or luxurious. It was overpriced and tasting menu items were simply olives or salads or just something small. I wouldn’t recommend this place simply because of the price.
