The best burgers and milk shakes in town! Great vegetarian burgers with a delicious real patty (not the impossible non sense) - Rafael was our server and was very polite, looked after us really well. Burger was slightly expensive and didn’t come with a side - the only downside.

Great place to eat when you are in Old Quebec. It doesn’t feel like a tourist trap, on the contrary, good food and good prices. burgers are great and even the salads are phenomenal.

The food is not good, came here for good poutine but left disappointed and hungry. The vegan poutine gravy tasted like tomato soup, it is supposed to mimic the authentic beef gravy.
However the in house made sodas were good

Chic Shack is a must-try! The fries are insanely good, crispy and full of flavor. The hamburger was juicy and fresh, and the milkshake-absolutely delicious! They also have a great selection of sodas. Chill vibes! Definitely coming back!

If you want to great food look elsewhere, but the location can't be beat if you want to watch people at the focus of upper old town in Quebec City this is the place.

Get a spot outside and relax as all of the people walk by as you nibble.

Nice and quick service. The La Forestier poutine was great, but the vegan one was quite disappointing.

Went for lunch, insanely busy as its peak tourist season. Waiters were very nice and hardworking. We got our food relatively quick however we ordered more items after we got our meals including water for multiple people (we were a table of 6) and the water took a while to come. One person didn't even get any water despite asking. This is totally okay as it was busy and it is easy to miss one or two things here and there.

How good is the food? Depends on what you get. The milkshakes, soda, and fries are fantastic. A regular order of fries is a very generous portion. The vegan poutine is.... weird. The sauce isn't even trying to resemble a gravy, it really seemed like it was just their tomato soup poured over some potatoes and cheese curds (i asked for regular cheese curds as i am a vegetarian, not vegan. It normally comes with tofu curds). I ate it but as i was expecting a more gravy like sauce, i did not enjoy. I wish the menu described it a little better. The portion was also weird. We had asked how the portions were and the waiter showed us the bowls they would come in. I ordered a small because it looked like a solid amount for a heavy dish. The bowl was maybe a little more than half full. Lesson learned. We got a couple regular orders of fries for the table after as a few of us were still hungry.
I would absolutely go again, but will be opting for something else for sure.

I ordered the garden burger (vegetarian) with fries and a homemade raspberry soda.

Let’s start with the burger. The patty was mostly rice and pumpkin seeds—an interesting concept—but it completely fell apart. I’m not sure what the binding ingredient was (if any), but it didn’t hold its shape at all. I ended up eating it with a knife and fork, which kind of defeats the purpose of a burger. It came topped with tomato, lettuce, marinated onions, and beets on a brioche bun. I had to add some Firebarns lime & jalapeño sauce just to bring it to life—it was bland overall.

Now, the fries? Fantastic. Freshly cut, cooked perfectly, and topped with a unique salty-sweet seasoning that really worked. And the homemade raspberry soda was a winner too—fresh, tangy, and not overly sweet. Both the fries and the drink were standout items.

The atmosphere was also a big plus—welcoming, laid-back, and with a cool, original vibe that made the experience feel thoughtful and intentional.
Overall, I’m giving it 4 stars. The burger needs serious improvement—if you’re offering a vegetarian option, make it one worth coming back for. And only accepting credit or debit? That’s a bit of a letdown in 2025. Still, the fries, the drink, and the vibe saved the day

Yes! This is legit poutine with the “squeaky” cheese curds. Gravy is awesome and even the non-traditional options are good (yes, even the kimchi version).

We came just after having a brunch so we got small sizes of poutines. Portion was big for a small with lots of meat so you get good value. Gets pretty busy but there is a lot of seating.
