A must-visit bar in Quebec City!
Bar 1608, located within the Château Frontenac, is simply stunning, beautifully decorated with rich wooden panel walls and elegant moldings that reflect the château’s historic charm. It is the perfect spot to unwind after a busy afternoon of sightseeing.

The cocktail menu is a work of art in itself. It is beautifully illustrated, with creative storytelling and detailed descriptions for each drink. The cocktails are every bit as beautiful as their photos, and they deliver on taste: creative, well-balanced, and with a touch of whimsy.

Of course, it is not the cheapest place in town, but every sip feels worth it. True to Fairmont style, they know how to do it right. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon here and will definitely be back.

Beautiful interior with a great view. The cocktails are expensive but that’s expected at the Fairmont. They were well made and the oysters were fresh. Definitely worth stopping by for a drink.

Sure, you’re going to think $28 for a cocktail is ridiculous, but they’re amazing. And they’re not small, and very complex, so it took an hour to drink it. Very nice atmosphere, great staff, and nice complimentary chips.

We had a drink there and the cocktails were you uniquely created on site. The view and the atmosphere are amazing. Cocktail prices are higher as one would expect from a tourist destination of the caliber, but the experience was still worth it.

If I could rate 0 stars I would.
I had to wait to be seated at a bar with ample room.
Then I ordered a Diplomatico Rum with Ginger Beer.
The bar girl poured an Appleton rum and then left it sitting on the bar for 20-25mins while she served 3 other people 12-15 drinks and then screwed up their bill.
Finally she realized my drink wasn’t finished and topped up the Appleton rum with Ginger Ale (not Ginger Beer). She dropped it in front me and bolted. No apology for the delay. The bar manager then asked me if I wanted any other drinks. I said “No, I wasn’t happy with the first one”. He couldn’t care less and just dropped a bill in front of me.
I noted on the bill “terrible service” expecting he might inquire as to why I wasn’t happy. No, he couldn’t care less either. And provided my change without question.
End result I paid a lot for a drink that was wrong by people that didn’t care.

Drinks fantastic
Service was great
Shrimp cocktail was very underwhelming.
Paid $30 for 31/40 shrimp served with what I would call mayo/ketchup sauce. Paying this much money I would expect larger shrimp (6/8) with a homemade cocktail sauce and fresh horseradish . This is not something that should be served here but rather a local pub for half the price. Put the same effort on your food as you do with your drinks.

Google seems to think that this is a restaurant. This is a bar that serves appetizers. I think this is supposed to be reserved for hotel guests but we were served and were not staying at the hotel.
The cocktail offerings were unique and tasty. The drinks were served in appropriate glassware with single large ice cubes, where appropriate. This is a true cocktail bar.
We were served complimentary bowls of snack mix to go with our drinks. Half of the seating has views of the river. I would highly recommend enjoying a drink here.
