Don Vegan Restaurant

A good reason to come to Quebec. We ate there twice! Each time was wonderful. Gnocchi with salad. Perfectly cooked light gnocchi in a cream sauce. Thai noodle soup with noodles and vegetables, sesame seeds and tofu. So flavorful! Impossible Burger with lettuce, tomato, cheese sauce, pickled onions, arugula, and who knows what else! Bibimbap had perfectly cooked veges, rice, pickled radish, rice noodles, tofu and a great gochuchang sauce. I wish we could stay a few more days!

I had not much hope of finding decent food in the tourist hub that is the old city of Quebec - you don’t want to hear the traditional Canadian foodstuffs! But here at this pleasant, sophisticated, restaurant, Don Vegan, there were throngs of shoot diners enjoying their lunch. There was a separate menu of the day which included an extremely tasty salad and a risotto of crispy cauliflower and a nutritional yeast development of some intricacy. Topped off by an almond and chocolate dessert, Don Vegan has brought an old vegan (me) considerable comfort. Merci beaucoup!!

I love that it's a full vegan resto and I don't need to think about what I need to order. The breakfast options are amazing!

We both had a lunch that came with an appetizer and a main meal, which looked fantastic and tasted even better. We did not expect that in this touristy area. Also, staff was really focused and kind, even throughout hectic times.

So many fantastic vegan options, I already want to go back to try more! We got the Donplings, which I would gladly eat an entire bowl filled with them they were so good, the mushroom risotto (amazing!) and the agnolottis (cashew and spinach stuffed pasta with nutritional yeast sauce, sauce flavour was a bit overwhelming but still nice). Some cons: Dessert was a chocolate cake that wasn’t great, almost like it wasn’t fully cooked and tasted like a cake in a cup microwave-type recipe—bit disappointing after so much fantastic food. Mocktails were also exorbitantly expensive for the amount you get.

AMAZING food, service, atmosphere. Brought my non-vegan family here and they all said it is excellent as well. We got the gnocchi, agnolottis, burger, and bibimbap. I’d definitely come back next time I’m in Quebec. Updated from previous review on 2025-07-14

Everything I tried was really delicious but highly recommend the vegan Caesar, dumplings and Agnolottis. We went back twice just to try more. I also had a really delicious cake like brownie that was really rich. They also have some healthier choices as well such as a burrito bowl, bibimbap. My only regret is I wasn't there for their weekend brunch!

I had the cashew cream gnocchi, my friend had the Bibimbap. Both wonderful. They brought us a piece of complementary chocolate cake for my friend’s birthday. So tasty! It was lovely to see the restaurant so busy.

We lived this restaurant and ate her twice in a 3 day vacation! The location is perfect - we sat on the patio which faced a cobblestone pedestrian street. The food was delicious and there was a lunch special that was just perfect. We also ate dinner here our first night. Will go back on a weekend and try the brunch!

The food was amazing! Very tasty and great options! The staff was really nice and impressive as there were only 3 people working in a rush but the food came fast and delicious!

We had no idea what to expect. The menu had so many options and we thought, "Why not dive in?" We tried 2 starters and 2 mains (offered in large and small sies) and each was a knockout: Panko Cauliflower; Donkinoise (pho) Soup ; Creamy Gnocchi, Fettuccine w/ Mushrooms. We literally scraped the plates clean and thanked the chef personally for her work. Plus the location is great (nice outdoor seating as well); the staff is uniformly friendly. Full recommendation!

After being let down by the options in Ottawa and Toronto this was a very welcome break in vegan options! Also has 2 mains which are gluten free. Staff very attentive and speak great English.
