Jekyll & Hyde Bar à tapas

Not sure why this is highly rated. I go out to eat every weekend and I would say this restaurant isn’t the worst but you’ll find much better in this city. First off, as everyone else says - it’s really loud. And I say this as someone who goes to loud bars and festivals often and isn’t usually sensitive to noise. They really crank that music up. Most importantly though - the food is extremely over priced. And I’m used to fine dining and paying a lot to go out. This is fine dining prices for average small portions of food. To be fair some things were ok. I liked my cheese cake dessert. The foie gras appy was tasty. But you really cannot justify the tiny portions of avg food. Like $17 for 2 micro pieces of arancini? Like not even good arancini - very average quality food. tried a few duck plates and they were meh. The salmon plate was 3 tiny pieces of salmon. Some of the drinks were good some were ok. I can see they are trying to be high end but the skill level or food quality just isn’t there. Lastly service was non-existent like we really had to flag the waiter down for service every time. Save your money bc you’ll get higher quality, more quantity, better service, and a nicer ambiance at many other places.

We were a group of four and went there without a reservation on a Saturday night, based on the excellent reviews.
The server recommended ordering 3–4 plates per person, but that was not enough considering how small the portions were.
The prices are honestly ridiculous for the quantity: 2 tiny scallops for $22, and 3 small pieces of smoked salmon for $20. The gnocchi dish was the only portion that felt reasonable.

They also forgot our wine, and we had to ask for the bill more than twice.
At the end, the server asked us to leave a good review in exchange for shots, which we declined.
Now I understand why they have so many positive reviews if that’s their strategy.

We ended up going a few doors down to get more food, don’t be trick by the reviews

A Hidden Gem!

This spot in Quebec City blew me away. Cozy vibe, amazing cocktails, and super friendly staff, specially Tristan. It feels exclusive but still welcoming, the kind of spot you’ll want to keep secret but can’t stop talking about.

Stumbled upon this place while exploring St. Roch on our first trip to Quebec City. We were looking for a place for pre dinner drinks. The food, wine and service blew us away, but especially the food. We had the arancini, scallops and crab tostadas. So so good!!!

We were very fortunate to enjoy a friends and family pop-up evening. Good was off the charts, paired cocktails were excellent and the service by Chad was attentive, and made us feel at home look forward to the opportunity to sample their regular tapas menu- Bravo les gars!

Absolutely loved the tapas (small plates). Everything we tried was absolutely scrumptious! The cocktails were fantastic and we even had dessert and coffee! The servers were super friendly, genuine and helpful in helping us decide! 100% recommend.
