When I get off the elevator, I am greeted by a very friendly gentleman in the cafe.
This is a nice piece of public infrastructure that increases accessibility in Quebec City, while also offering a relaxed way to get to higher and lower point of elevation in the city for people of all means. TLDR; not feeling like walking up a bunch of stairs to get from St Roch to St Jean? This elevator is for you.
Up! Down! It's amazing!
Phew! Saves energy!
Beautiful
Awesome elevator. Always lifts me up
Thank you for the kindness and excellent service! đ
The decoration is beautiful and the place pleasant. Itâs a shame, however, that no prices are displayed either in the window or for the drinks.
Best place to grab some really good sandwiches or pastries with a coffee on the go
Ascenseur du Faubourg, 1942 by Wilfrid LacroixThe Faubourg Elevator is a prime example of public Art Deco architecture and holds significant architectural value.Originally designed to accommodate two elevator shafts, only one was operational initially. This elevator could transport 16 people and travel 300 feet per minute, completing a round trip in one minute.

Never had any problems. Except that it closes too early some evenings. It would take more opening hours for people with reduced mobility. It's the only elevator that connects the upper town so it's important.
Alright
Cool Café on the first floor
