This restaurant is walking distance from our hotel which made it my first choice to order food for our dinner. It has dining out patio good for al fresco dining during summerIt has bright and cheerful interiors that reminds me of seaside bars and Greek coastal village restaurants. I ordered two sets of Pork Souvlaki(2 sticks) which came with a generous Greek salad, potatoes,pitas and rice. This certainly is a very heavy meal for hubby and myself. Our total for this meal added up to $44++. I found the pork souvlaki delicious. Meals are a bit expensive

My friend suggested this place for lunch. The restaurant itself is charming and the chairs are very comfortable. It was three-quarters full and the noise level made it hard to talk. We both ordered the chicken wrapped in pita plate. Presentation was good. It came with the pita wrapped in paper, salad and fresh cut fries. So the reason for the three rating is because the salad (an excellent dressing) or the fries (could have been really good, but they were limp) had grit in it. Either the potatoes weren't scrubbed before cooking or the lettuce wasn't sufficiently cleaned. I didn't want to make a fuss, but it's hard to enjoy the food grinding on sand in every mouthful. Anyway, the chicken pita was fine and the service was good.

First visit, on a recommendation from a friend. A great menu, lots of excellent choices! Fast, efficient service (thank you Peter!)

Out to celebrate my daughter’s 27th birthday ? and she picked souvlaki bar great choice the food excellent the service was not really that good for some reason the waitress looked like she was pissed off that we were there but we did not let her attitude ruin our dinner ?. To all waiters and waitresses if you are having a bad day and don’t want to be at work call in sick ? the guests at the restaurant don’t need your attitude Plenty of parking so no worries ? We were there October 20th 2019

We went for dinner on Saturday night and it was packed. However seeing a disabled member in our family group, the staff was friendly, kind and seated us very quickly and graciously. They were bilingual and hearing my bad French started speaking to us in English. The server told us she wants to work in event management and needs to improve her English ;) It was very gracious and nice of them. The food was delicious and service was good. The maitre'd came over to ensure our food was good. We enjoyed our dinner and drinks.

The gyro on a pita was terric as was the salad but the spanakopita had a weird texture and taste. Fair price and great service. Lots of blue and white.

This restaurant is a hit or a miss; it all depends which waiter you are assigned. We asked to sit on terrace on a nice summer night. The waiter we had was a bit rude and not very helpful. The waiter next to our table explained the specials to the customers, made some recommendations and was a lot more joyful. I asked for a special dish that was not on the menu and it was so complicated to get the waiter to understand. We also had to get up once because he was taking long to take our drink order. I must say towards the end he noticed we were not very satisfied and he was a bit nicer, although we had to get up and go to the bar and ask for our bill since he had disappeared for a long time. I have been to this restaurant at least five times and service is not consistent. The food is good casual Greek menu options but service is really off sometimes.

I had a good experience when I came here last year with my friends but this visit was terrible! I was embarrassed to bring my family here. We were a table of 7 during a Saturday afternoon for a birthday lunch. We all ordered gyro plates. There was food stuck on the glasses of water, so we preferred to avoid drinks all together. Our waitress was very cold and unapologetic. Five of us requested ‘no rice’ with our plates, and asked to have some of the rice in a bowl for the 2 kids. The waitress forgot about the rice. She really lacks enthusiasm. She would not ask us if we needed anything, we kept asking other waiters for missing items. The gyro bread looked like it was dipped in oil. All our gyros were lacking chicken! The French fries were black burnt bits and pieces of leftover fries from a previous day- refer to photo. The meal was of very poor quality and taste. The salad was the only good part of the meal. We had asked for a piece of birthday cake after the meal. The waitress bought the cake, but then left. She did not provide any dessert spoons. After 5 minutes, we tracked her down and asked her if they had plastic plates. Her response was ‘no’. As she walked away, we requested to have dessert spoons at least. It was as though the waitress never worked in a restaurant before. I will never return to this restaurant again, it was a big waste of money and it ruined the birthday experience!

So where do I start? This is hands down the best Greek restaurant we've been to. We love Greek food and go hunting for that..there are quite a few good places in the NYC area but this was the best! I had the Calamari pita (see pic) and my husband had the club pita chicken..both were excellent. it was juicy and melted in your mouth. A few days later we saw that there is another Souvaki bar in the underground..but we had had lunch by then if not we would've grabbed lunch there..love love love the food..service is slow..but they give you nice warm bread to keep you happy :) Fresh and authentic greek food. The salad that comes with it is superb!!Excellent service..very nice and friendly servers. Lovely atmosphere..The price was quite reasonable.

We had just finished watching a movie and decided to head across the street to Souvlaki Bar for some supper. We arrived and were quickly seated. I was surprised that it was very quiet. Our waiter, George, came by to explain their menu. My wife ordered their Gyro Pita ($15.95) and I ordered their Gyro plate ($18.95). It literally arrived after about three minutes from the time we placed our order. My wife enjoyed her Chicken Pita which also included rice, fries and their SVK bar salad. I was a bit disappointed with my plate. It also consisted of their SVK salad, only 2 wedges of great Greek potatoes and an over abundance of rice but their Chicken Gyro must have been in short supply. There was chicken but not at all what I had expected! There were small pieces of overcooked chicken on top of my rice but no substantial amounts of it, at least not 1/2 pound as advertised.Too bad. It might be another year before we go back. Parking was no problem. Enjoy!
