⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you’re craving Korean food in Montreal, Bol Orange is an absolute must-visit. I recently had the chance to dine here, and I was blown away by both the flavors and the authenticity of the dishes. From the moment we walked in, the cozy atmosphere and the friendly service set the tone for a fantastic dining experience.

We decided to order a few of our favorites to share, and let me tell you – every single bite was worth savoring. First up was the Korean Fried Chicken, and it was everything you’d hope for – crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated with just the right amount of sweet and spicy sauce. It was addictive in the best possible way.

Next, we had the Tteokbokki (Spicy Rice Cakes). This dish is a staple in Korean cuisine, and Bol Orange did not disappoint. The chewy rice cakes were swimming in a rich, spicy, slightly sweet sauce that had a satisfying kick. It wasn’t overwhelmingly spicy, but it definitely had a nice heat that kept you coming back for more.

Finally, we had the Kimchi Stew with Pork – a hearty, flavorful bowl of comfort. The pork was tender and infused with the flavors of the kimchi broth, which had just the right balance of sourness and spice. The tofu and vegetables added extra texture and depth, making every spoonful a treat.

We were so impressed that we finished everything – no leftovers in sight! Every dish felt authentically Korean and thoughtfully prepared. It’s rare to find a place outside of Korea that gets the flavors and textures so right, but Bol Orange manages to do it with flair.

If you’re looking for a spot in Montreal where you can enjoy a true taste of Korea – from crispy fried chicken to satisfying stews – I can’t recommend Bol Orange enough. Just be sure to come hungry, because you’ll want to try everything on the menu.

This restaurant can be a choice when i want to have korean food. The portion is not too big. I ordered 3 dishes and its around 65$.

Chicken wings were really good, fully covered with the sauce but still crispy. Giving a good flavour, not too sweet.

The kimchi soup for me is ok, not that wow.

tteokbokki is good.

One Star – Extremely Disrespectful Experience, Would Not Recommend

I’ve visited this Korean restaurant multiple times, mostly out of convenience since it’s local. Unfortunately, the food has consistently been mediocre—far from the standard one would expect from an authentic Korean kitchen. But what truly shocked me and compelled me to leave this review was the owner’s incredibly rude and inappropriate behavior during our most recent visit.

Today, I went in with my partner. I was hungry and ordered a meal for myself, while my partner—who had already eaten earlier—opted not to order and just had water. As soon as we placed the order, the owner (an older man, who is not just a worker but the actual owner of the establishment) gave us a very unpleasant look and condescendingly told us that next time, each person must order a meal. He emphasized this rudely and with an air of disbelief, as if we had done something offensive simply by having one diner order food.

To make matters worse, the restaurant was half empty, with plenty of open tables. There was absolutely no reason for the owner to act the way he did. It’s ridiculous and completely unreasonable to enforce such a rule when there’s no shortage of seating and no demand for space.

We were stunned. The atmosphere immediately became uncomfortable. Wanting to avoid further conflict, we decided to just leave. As we were walking out, the owner started yelling at us in front of everyone, escalating the situation and making an unnecessary scene. It was deeply unprofessional, hostile, and completely uncalled for.

There’s simply no excuse for this kind of behavior. Diners should never be shamed or policed for their eating choices—especially not when the food is average at best and the space itself is unremarkable, bordering on run-down. This is not a high-end restaurant with reservations and rules. It’s a casual, no-frills spot, and yet the owner acts with arrogance and disdain toward his own customers.

Also, if you’ve seen reviews mentioning a “rude waiter” or “unpleasant staff,” let me clarify: it’s the owner himself who treats people poorly. That’s a much more serious issue, as it reflects a fundamental problem with the business’s values and hospitality.

In a city filled with far better Korean restaurants—both in quality of food and treatment of guests—this place stands out for all the wrong reasons. I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of places where you’ll be welcomed warmly, respected as a customer, and served better food.

Avoid this restaurant. You deserve better.

Honestly the food was okay but the worst service ever. I went and paid for my food and the owner started yelling at me cuz I didn’t tip and denied me any type of service in future. Tips are not mandatory as I work in the service area myself this type of behaviour towards customers is unacceptable. And the food isn’t that amazing for me to revisit either in the first place. For sure I am never going back there and recommend nobody to go there either cuz u will be forced to tip.

Great unpretentious little korean resto with good food and reasonable price. Everything is good and looks fresh, the portions are big. Service is quick too. The place is pretty clean and spacious. They don't take reservations not even for groups, but we were able to get tables easily on weekend at lunch time. Definitely recommend!

We had an amazing meal at this Korean restaurant! We ordered the bibimbap, kimchi, and rice cake skewers, and each dish was bursting with flavor.

The bibimbap arrived sizzling hot, loaded with fresh veggies, meat, and a perfectly cooked egg on top.

Mixing in the gochujang sauce added a nice depth of spice that brought everything together. The kimchi was tangy, crunchy, and had just the right amount of heat! The rice cake skewers were a delightful surprise, with a chewy texture and a sweet-spicy glaze that made them incredibly addictive.

The service was friendly and attentive, making our experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Korean flavors!

Let me know if there’s anything else you'd like to add!

Cozy place to eat and consistently delicious food!! I've tried their chicken katsu, their ramyeon, their bibimbap and their boneless chicken in 4 different visits, and they tasted SO GOOD every single time. Their prices are also cheaper than other Korean restaurants I've been to. It's why I keep coming back here for more ;)
