Nice atmosphere. Amazing breakfast (best I had during my holidays in Canada) and good dinner.
The buffet breakfast is simply amazing. Good selection of freshly baked bread, well made pancakes, fruit, yoghurt, serials, egg, fried bacon and more. Adults pay $29, kids $15. Very good value. I have to specially recommend the chocolate pasta (of the house) and raspberry jam (jelly).
About the dinner. We had the beef and the rabbit. The first night we had dinner here, the beef was a little overcooked, the second night it was spot on (medium rare).
I can recommend the rabbit. Cooked and glazed perfectly. The terrine which comes as side dish is very tasty.
About the kids menu. General Tao is not fried chicken served in a sweet and sour sauce. So not sure all people will like it. The mac and cheese and fish and chips are very good though.
We also tried the desserts. The tiramisu is recommended. The surprise dessert of the chef turned out to be three different chocolate mousse. Incredible.
By default they will include a 15% tip in the bill (13% service charge and 2% administration fee). However, if you tell the waiter you want to decide for yourself it is not an issue.
The hotel ("lodge") is basically the only choice for food unless you drive further away (too far for me). It is also a 10 min walk from most rooms. They also have another (more expensive restaurant), but I think this one is an excellent choice.“
