It's a Japanese restaurant run by Chinese people. Forget about authenticity, putting a bunch of sashimi on rice does not make it Japanese. The flavor profile reminds me of all you can eat sushi buffet. Definitely does not worth the drive, there are so many better places on Montreal island.

The best sashimi and maki we had! The house made strawberry mochi was delicious as well. So fresh - we can’t wait to come back. Thank you and grateful for the owners of Mont-Brise who took such great care of us!

Awesome authentic Japanese restaurant! Best Japanese food I’ve found in Montreal. Fish is as fresh as you could get!
Service was super slow but still was pleasant.

The quality of the fish was amazing, the cut was nice and thick, fresh and come with a special blend well aged soy sauce. Also, wasabi was freshly grated from real wasabi roots, not your usual wasabi powder. All in all, it was a great little restaurant without much fuss, just amazing food. However, set your expectation right as the food could be seem as pricey, but you get what you pay for.

The waitress was friendly and knew the menu very well, her recommendations helped us a lot! Bigger portions than we expected, we couldn’t finish our food and we had leftovers. Cannot get over how good and fresh everything was. Coming again for sure ?
