Having heard good things but never been, the four of us had decently high expectations. What we got surpassed those by quite a large margin. It starts with Arielle, who amazing demeanour was only surpassed by her exquisite knowledge of the menu. After letting us settle and catch up on the personal stuff, she helped navigate our decisions on this sharing menu to give us a literal smorgasbord of Spanish food to try and share. Meats, cheeses, hot and cold dishes, drinks were all on point. To top it off, we were treated to a bite of absolute decadence to close off the meal, when the owner came out to see if we had enjoyed our visit and to invite us back before they close for a well deserved seasonal break. If you like authentic food, great atmosphere (live music Friday/Saturday) and sampling multiple tastes, Ole Tapas should be on your list.

Opentable Diner

Great little neighborhood restaurant serving authentic Spanish food, primarily tapas. Generous servings as well.

We had 2 appetizers and a seafood paella. The appetizers were ok, lacking salt and somewhat overpriced but decent overall. Sadly, the paella was the worst paella we have ever had. The rice had no seafood flavour at all, it lacked salt, there was no socarrat, and had way too much black pepper to the point of us not being able to taste anything else in the dish but pepper flavour. The onion was caramelized, not cooked in the way a paella sofrito should be, so the whole thing was somewhat sweet because of that. The mussels were way overcooked too. Great service though, the waiters were really nice. I would only recommend if you stick to the tapas - if you have ever had a real paella in Spain and that's what you're craving, sadly this is not the spot for it.

Ole is first class in all respects. The food is typical tapas. Simple, delicious. Service is fast. The wait staff are the best crew I've seen in years. A great expetience.

The food and service is excellent. The best grilled octopus in Montreal. The two paella's we shared were outstanding.

Words cannot even describe how delicious the food is at Ole Tapas- anytime I have ever eaten their food its always top tier and I am so impressed at the level of consistency no matter the time or day I go. Nikolas, the owner and head chef, goes to exceptional lengths to ensure his clients have the best dining experience possible every time. He is extremely passionate about what he does and it comes through in all the dishes. The staff is extremely efficient and polite. The restaurant itself is always so clean, cozy and welcoming. Anytime I am in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue I always stop in for a bite. Thank you Nikolas and your staff at Ole Tapas for your passion and dedication.

It was one of those afternoons when the world seems to be conspiring to make you happy. The air was warm enough to sit outside without a jacket, the trees around Canal St-Anne just tipping into their brightest colors, and the patio at Ole Tapas felt like the center of a small universe. Everything carried a touch of magic, the soft light, the easy laughter, and the sense that nothing urgent existed beyond that meal. When Chef Nikolaos Giannakopoulos came to greet us, his pride felt contagious, the kind that does not need to be announced. Our waiter, equally passionate, made us feel as though we were guests of honor in a private performance, not just customers at lunch.

The food rose to meet that mood. Jamón serrano that tasted of tradition, anchored by a goat cheese spread so lush we tried to wrestle its secret recipe from the chef, only to be told we would have to wait until it appeared in their mercado. Pan con tomate transported me back to Seville, the patatas bravas offered a sauce more soulful than fiery, and the croquetas de bacalao arrived golden, crisp, and fresh. By the time we pushed the plates aside, four dishes had become more than enough, though the temptation of the menu kept tugging. I left already imagining the joy of returning with a larger group, so we could stretch the table with even more small plates.

And then came dessert, as if the day needed one more stroke of perfection. Chef gently persuaded us into churritos with dulce de leche, and there was no regret in giving in. The sauce was sweet but measured, like the tender hug of a mother, the kind that lingers after you have pulled away. The whipped cream, made in house, was light and cloudlike, dressed in a dusting of chocolate. Candied fruits and nuts scattered across the plate felt like a playful last word, a reminder that food can surprise even at the finish.

When we finally stood to leave, the patio view had not changed, but somehow it felt sharper, as if the trees and water had been colored in more vividly. The memory of that lunch will stay with me less for its perfection and more for its warmth, the kind of afternoon where you realize life’s best meals are never just about the food.

The place itself is very pleasant, perfect for going with family or spending a good time with friends. I definitely want to go back.
Advise: The restaurant area is nice and welcoming, but you may find it difficult to find parking, so I recommend arriving early to find one.
