When is St Sauveur going to get a decent Italian restaurant?
We had planned on going to Mo's for New Years dinner. As we walked there we passed Gio's and walked in. To our surprise we got a table. We always wanted to try Gio's. We did and will NOT return.
Great location, great look from the outside, nice staff inside. Food is awful. It has lots going for it but the food was frozen junk. My caesar salad had no taste and bacon bits. My onion soup was literally only onion soup until I paid extra for cheese and bread crumbs as they called it. My Keg frozen French onion soup at home is far better. Actually the soup tasted ok. I ordered lasagna. I have never eaten such a tight packed lasagna. The centre was frozen. What does that tell you? My bill which I could barley read (the ink must have been out of the machine), I had an extra charges for what the waitress called parmesan fondue which was more like a cold mozzarella stick, bread crumbs and cheese on my onion soup and the sad salad.
The place has potential but the food is really sub par.
By the way there were all kinds of open tables on New Years eve. We should have clued in.
Good luck.
Next place we will try will be Le Vieux Four.

We usually come in the summer so this was our first time in winter. Same excellent service as usual. The pasta dishes and pizzas are what my family loves. It was a bit tight between tables and restaurant was a bit chilly so maybe bring a warm top or shawl to cover up.

Excellent food, warm and friendly atmosphere. Service a little too fast but efficient. Recommendation without hesitation. My partner’s favorite, rack of lamb.

Very disappointing. Bolognese sauce was very sour and Napolitano sauce bland. Bolognese was so sour it was not consumed. Provided polite feedback. Server was very polite but owner or manager did not even offer anything to offset the experience. We asked for the bill and were charged full price. I politely mentioned this to server who was very nice but who s response was "I am not the owner". We paid and left, returned home after paying close to 100$ to sit in our dining room to have dinner. Looking back I should have insisted to see the owner. We recently moved to the region and discovered great places to eat. This one has been stricken off the list. I must say we have been spoiled with amazing Italian food so buyer beware.

I often eat carbonnara and those were really not successful, they say an egg sauce? But it was literally a flavorless cream sauce with limp bacon and overcooked pasta… it was very disappointing but our only supper in St

Excellent service...good food 😘

Good Italian restaurant in the heart of St-Sauveur. We go there every time we are in the area. The pizzas are good but disappointed with the spaghetti carbonara which had little flavor. The service is very good and the atmosphere is good both on the front terrace and in the back yard. Prices are moderate. The restaurant is located near the municipal parking lot on rue de la gare.

Good Italian restaurant. The mussels were excellent and the veal Parmigiano very good. Satisfied with our evening. Beautiful atmosphere and magnificent terrace.

I had high hopes based on all the great reviews, however the service was rude, awkward and honestly abysmal at best. We could not speak great French and the server was very rude about it, we tried our best however she avoided us and was very cold. It took 30 minutes for our drinks. The waitress passed us many times, ignoring our table and serving all the others around despite waiting a long time to put in our food orders. The food took an hour to arrive and in turn was cold/room temp at best. The atmosphere was cute and homey though. Overall, we were there for 2.5 hours, and wanted to leave practically the whole time. The food was so bland. The spicy muscles just tasted like nothing, and our carbonara and Alfredo tasted like straight heavy cream. Leaving feeling sick and disappointed.

Saturday September 21. The atmosphere is very good, and the service excellent. In terms of meals, for a dinner on a Saturday, no choice of mussel dishes available, although we had chosen Gio's for this specialty. Subsequently the lasagna dish was cold, replaced without any problem by a hot one. As for the filet mignon dish, the filet mignon did not have the tenderness normally expected. So disappointment in terms of cuisine, nothing exceptional as a first and possibly last experience.
