I have visited this great bistro several times and am disappointed about its closure for the summer of 2021. Here's hoping for a re-opening in 2022. The Tomifobia is a veritable gem of a gastronomic hideaway in the frontier region.
Literally just metres over the US-Canada border in Canada, Le Tomifobia couldn't feel further away from the anglo world on the other side of Main St. Beautifully prepared fresh ingredients in sensible portions were a pleasant change, and my poached salmon with a lemon veloutė sauce totally delicious.
My son and I made our first cross the border trip to Canada and chose to eat at a quaint restaurant not one hundred feet from the border crossing, so small even the border officer didn't know where it was. The restaurant is a converted home, the dining area a former dining room for the home owner. My son had the salmon dinner, and his first glass of wine. I had the spicy couscous with lamb. Bread accompanied the meal, a salad and soup with dessert. We both cleaned our plates....
