Le Black Forest-cuisine urbaine Terrebonne

J’ai été franchement épatée par mon expérience au Black Forest à Laval. Le repas était extraordinaire du début à la fin : une belle fusion de saveurs, des découvertes surprenantes et des mélanges vraiment bien maîtrisés. J’ai eu l’impression d’explorer de nouveaux horizons culinaires, et j’ai été agréablement surprise par certains plats ou ingrédients que je n’aurais jamais cru autant aimer. Tout était interprété avec beaucoup de finesse, les cuissons étaient parfaites et chaque assiette apportait quelque chose d’unique. Une expérience mémorable que je recommande sans hésiter.

Quaint little place with a 10 tapas set menu(changes every month I believe) I have a good palate so I enjoyed all of them except for the tomato soup (comes with a grill cheese) very good. Our menu was set at 75$ per person very reasonable considering that by the end of the meal I was full. The tapas varies so you get to experience different flavors and textures. The service though is iffy when it comes to clearing the plates. That is something they need to address. Overall a nice experience and remember it's a long service so enjoy the company you are with.

Amazing!

Great staff, super friendly and the food was very good and moderatly priced. Rare to see these days a spot where you can actually get your money's worth. They usually do fixed menues but they were nice enough to make a bit of an accomodation for me, which was super appreciated. 🥩 🦞 🍷

We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. Overall the service was lovely and non-intrusive. The portions were generous unlike some other tasting menus that can leave you hungry. The wine pairing was also generous, we took one each but could likely have split one between the two of us.

The dining room was not very organized, we were sat a few feet from a plastic trash can that resided in the dining room. We were greeted by big distracting wine fridges emitting ugly blue lights at the entrance.

Unfortunately, of the 12 dishes (which to our surprise were served 2 at a time in 6 services as opposed to one portion per person served in 12 services.), only about half would make us come back for more. Dishes often felt un-refined and confused, tasting out of harmony and often being overcomplicated. In our case, a bison carpaccio with 3 different sauces . A perfectly cooked octopus with 5-6 different components you had to gather together to get a complete taste of the dish. A crispy salmon on a gelatinous tasteless polenta.

Overall we did not regret our visit, but we don't feel as though we had our money's worth. I would rather recommend picking out specific dishes from the menu (The tasting menu seemed to be made up of the same dishes as the à la carte menu). A better attention to detail in the dining room and the dishes could bring this place to the next level. I believe changing menus every month does only a disservice to the quality and the refinement of the dishes and we felt it.

Fabulous food, nice experience. It was busy and a little loud, and the servers spoke quickly so it was hard to understand. We did adjust to it though. Love the tapas option with wine pairing, The combinations were very creative and delicious!

Wow! We were so impressed, not only by the food but also by the service. Our waiter did everything to ensure that we were served and satisfied. Having been there with a friend that had allergies, the staff continued to ensure us of the high quality level of care they were providing to ensure she would be okay. This restaurant is an experience. You cannot be in a rush, you need to enjoy the moment and enjoy the time. The food was amazing. Out of this world good. If I have to say anything would be I wish the portions were a tad bigger. There are 10 ( I believe ) dishes that are served so you are constantly being fed. I would definitely go back.
