It had been several months since we noticed a drop in quality (bread that hardened in a few hours, pastries becoming smaller and more ordinary...) but this Tuesday evening you permanently lost us as customers. 4 pastries and a disaster, they clearly had several days behind them. An opera cake that tasted so much like coffee that it was infamous, a Paris Brest with a ton of caramel (but why???) And a cream that looks like flan, a cupcake that tastes like betty crocker, only the cake with carrots was passable, the rest ended up in the trash. For 28 dollars (because you have to tip into a bakery otherwise you'll have things thrown in your face) it's more than ordinary. We are going to return to Boucherville, although as residents of Varen we liked the idea of ​​having a bakery in the town.

Since the change of ownership it is no longer the same thing. The bread is too floured and has lost its lightness. The pastries no longer have the same texture. There are no longer any Alsatian originalities....in short, a good bakery but more and more "like the others, which no longer stands out from the ordinary". We hope from the bottom of our hearts that you will quickly raise the bar. We will continue to encourage you but wanted to point out this drop in quality which we regret.

In addition, the branch of Verchères is closed and replaced by a ridiculous plexiglass box to the delights of Laurence. We go to Boucherville for the love of bread or floured from now on.
