Next time, I’d skip the big burger and go for two smaller ones — about the same price but better value. We got the meal with poutine (options of all types of freshly made sauces) and upsized it to add sausage; I had expected it to be grilled, but it turned out to be plain boiled.
When in Montreal, we love finding unusual and unique gems like this. All in all, a pretty inexpensive spot with a wonderfully old-school charm. Perfect for a casual date night!

My partner and I moved to Verdun in 2022 and this place has been one of the few that we love here that has still remained, and it’s easy to see why. The food is fantastic and filling, the staff are kind and sweet, and you can tell they care deeply for their community with their “gift a meal” program and regularly selling other products from small businesses, like the maple donuts they have now. We love them. Wishing them continued success and happiness!

We’ve been eating at Casse-Croute Normand regularly (once per week) for the past 10 years. For the most part we haven’t had any issues, until recently.
100% of the time we ask for our fries well done. A few weeks ago we received our order and the fries were the farthest thing from well done; they were under cooked, with some fries still a bit hard. After a few bites, the food got tossed in the garbage. The following week I went to pick up an order and informed the lady of the issues we had, hoping she would advise the staff to be mindful of these requests. Worth noting that our pickup order was cooked perfectly.
Our next 2 orders, both on delivery, once again showed up with under cooked fries, despite our request for well done. Both orders got tossed in the garbage and we haven’t ordered from there since.
I’m afraid to see what the fries look like when you don’t ask for well done, they must be raw :(
We miss our weekly “fix” but we’re tired of paying for food only to throw it out.

Had the bacon poutine and all you need to know is that you have to dig through a thiccccc layer of cheese and bacon before you even see a single fry which, by the way, are perfect. Once you’ve entered (that’s right, entered) the poutine, it becomes a well balanced mix of what a poutine should be. No overuse of any ingredient, not stingy with cheese or gravy, really hits the spot. Interior is exactly what you’d expect a casse croute to look like - you don’t change what ain’t broke.
