Very disappointing. The tasting menu is just an amalgam of disparate dishes, poorly balanced and in no way matched with the wines. All at a haute cuisine price. You would probably be better served in town. To avoid.

Wow! such a beautiful spot with a really relaxed feel, live music was playing , real fireplace ,and the view of the back was great. The food was 11/10 as we loved almost every plate. We had the steak and the pasta and starter soup. Great service as always checking on you. Highly recom ended ...abit pricey but worth it !Vegetarian options: Pasta

Run to Restaurant La Muse du Moulin de Wakefield. Eating at La Muse is happiness. The foie gras tastes like the service. The service is impeccable. WELL DONE !

I was very excited to try this restaurant for my birthday dinner with close friends. Unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing. The foodWe got the 5 course tasting menu with the wine pairing. Each course was more disappointing than the next. First issue was we got our bread with the amuse bouche which we had to wait 45 minutes for. The presentation was good but the taste was extremely underwhelming. Only fully eating each dish because we we had to wait so long for the next one. The cheese course was awful nearly had to spit it out. I’d like to preface that we are by no means picky people at all and are always willing to try new things which is why we were so disappointed. The serviceThe service was okay but… in my many experiences with tasting menus the wine is always brought before the meal not after. Some dishes were left on the table and after expressing our displeasure with the food there was nothing done about it what so ever. The cocktailsWe ordered old fashions and a tequila sour. Both okay but tasted slightly watered down. Not worth 25$ a cocktail in my opinion. Tequila sour should not be served on foggy ice…AtmosphereThe place itself is cozy and the winter landscape from the window was very beautiful. After previously having an amazing experience at the restaurant above la muse in the fall we all had high hopes for an experience just as good we were left feeling robbed.Definitely not worth the 800$ we spent I hope la muse steps up there game because in my opinion this is not the fine dinning experience I hoped for

11/10 recommend. We did the chefs blind tasting and everything was impeccable. It was one of the best meals we've ever had and we've traveled the world. We also had breakfast here each morning since we were staying in the hotel, it was also amazing. Visited from Pennsylvania.

Incredible! Chef is Marie-Eve Gingras. Sous Chef Jesse Hanson Was perhaps the best dinner ever, at a superb location. A romantic hotel, formerly a mill from the 1800’s. Quiet, romantic, attentive staff, ideal in every way. Everything was great. The wine! The waiter was terrific, not only was the food interesting but he explained the background in making it. An example was ordering potatoes, they were micro sliced and cooked in a wonderful way. We were impressed! Best ever. A big hats off to management because a group of people have vision and passion. Impressed!

Cute place to sit fireside after a walk through Wakefield. Has that newly minted rustic air that can vary between patronizing and inviting Hear the accommodations are nice. Good local beer - 3 wows Wowowow

We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary so we were very excited for a night out. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience. The whole dinner lasted 2.5 hours for 3 courses - waited an hour to even have our appetizer.Pros:- Food was well plated & tasty.Cons:- Server never asked if we wanted to have more wine even once.- Never refilled our empty waters despite seeing him standing around overlooking the dining room.- Saw other tables receive bread but we were never offered. Didn’t think we would have to ask for it given butter was already set out on the table since the beginning. We mentioned it to our server after our entrees arrived and got no apology.- Dirty plates left at our table LONG after we finished.Overall given the price of the experience we expect our needs to be met without having to ask. We would rather get food somewhere else in town and save the extra money…

We decided on the 5 course chefs choice menu (which ended up with 2 amuse bouche as well) and thus had no idea what to expect. The first amuse bouche was a very small piece of cod with some other small ingredients - very tasty, second came a warm brioche with beet, rosemary butter, next came the first appetizer which was slivers of duck, with duck skin and a sauce - it was ok. Then came a variety of smoked fish in a sort of croquette with creme fraiche - which was excellent. The main course was a pasta in a brown sauce with beef - fantastic - one of the best tasting dishes I have had in my life. Next was another amuse bouche which was amazing. At this point my anticipation was building to a great finish with 2 desserts - the first of which was an apple, brie with nuts - very disappointing and my partners dish looked very different than mine with many more nuts and a much larger piece of brie which she said she could not taste - neither of us finished the dish. Lastly a very fancy desert presentation which was frankly quite unremarkable as I cannot even really remember what if was. Service was great, setting was lovely and the 3.5 hours flew by so overall an enjoyable experience with the pasta and smoked fish dishes being the best. My partner did the wine pairing which she would not do again preferring to select 1 wine she liked and staying with that throughout the meal. $400 with tip- so just be prepared.

It’s best to take a room only package and eat at the restaurants in town. The meals are served cold, the food could probably be good, but needs to improve, the service is also not at par for the prentended gastronomic location.

We enjoyed our 4th stay at this fabulous resort and were not disappointed! We booked the Two Nights in the Park package, which we highly recommend. Firstly, you cannot beat the gorgeous setting of this inn which is too beautiful to aptly describe. The river, the falls, the trees, the Muskoka chairs positioned perfectly to enjoy the views, the sounds of nature. Spectacular and peaceful! The dining experience is impressive. The food is delicious - breakfast, lunch and dinner. Every meal we experienced was so delicious. And dining while enjoying the spectacular views just made everything more perfect. Our accommodations were lovely. We always choose to stay in the old mill building which overlooks the rushing falls. Our room was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. The spa is beautiful and the treatments were perfect. All staff were friendly, from front desk to restaurant servers to bar servers to cleaning staff to spa staff. A quick walk into the town is both scenic and easy. Wakefield has a lot to offer… I highly recommend this beautiful resort. We will be back!
