Very fancy fine dining place in the heart of westmount. We were there for a Christmas party with work and we had a set menu. Amazing seafood appetizers ranging from Arctic salmon with salmon eggs, some raw tuna thinly sliced and rolled as well as the home made ham.
For the main we had a steak and the salmon with lentils. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender.
The service was perfect, very attentive and helpful staff.
Overall great experience just don't go really hungry since the portions are really small.

The tartare was delicious, as was the bread. Wasn’t the biggest fan the tuna crudo and my virgin shirley temple tasted like cough syrup. Would go back to try out other things on the menu.

Coming with two friends on a Saturday evening, it's chic but you feel at home, a simple welcome and very pleasant service. The dishes were delicious, especially the salmon.
I will come back and recommend!!

We’ve eaten twice here recently with out-of-town friends, and both times were excellent. The bread was wonderful, with truly great butter. I had a great mushroom velouté, and the halloumi with balsamic and honey glaze was phenomenal. My ravioli was flavorful and delicious, and my husband said his steak was the best one he’d had in several years. And the pavlova was definitely worth leaving room for! The staff were warm and attentive, and the whole evening was great. If you’d like a meal that’s a bit of a splurge, I definitely recommend it!

First of all Jenny’s service was 10/10, very knowledgeable and familiar she was much appreciated. The halloumi and rigatoni were some of the best dishes I’ve ever had, and the wine recommended to us was perfect. All at a very reasonable price, I’ll be back soon.

First time at this restaurant and loved our experience. Appetizers and mains were delicious. I had the halloumi and the sea bass, both delicious. Husband had the chicken liver mousse and beef cheek rigatoni and loved both. Guest raved about the tuna tartare and mussels. Only weak point was the Pear Pavlova dessert.) We loved the atmosphere as well, very cute restaurant with music playing at a volume that didn't hamper conversation. Excellent, friendly wait staff. We will definitely return! If the second time is as good as the first, this restaurant will be our new go-to.

Our favourite date night spot - like always every plate was cooked to perfection. Squash soup perfect starter for the season, followed by salad and the must have halloumi. Ravioli & steak frites to follow - banana tart finisher. Dreamt about our dinner on the drive home!

Bistro La Franquette is easily by far my favourite restaurant in the city. The service and food is always excellent without a doubt. The Staff is made up of genuine people who make the experience delightful and special. The food never misses. I was amazed by their Pate en croute. Highly recommend visiting this place with friends or family.

So I’ll start with, you should go.

I’ll get to the food in a sec but as soon as you walk in you feel the warmth. They have a cozy and intimate dining room that’s great for a night out with your favourite people.

We had the sourdough bread and halloumi starters, which were ok, but for the mains we had the ravioli, rigatoni and the hangar steak. All of them were incredible. The one large ravioli with pockets of ricotta was served al dente, it had the right amount of chew, with a tomato basil sauce which was nice and light. The rigatoni with beef cheek also was served with perfectly al dente pasta in a deeply flavored ragu, which I think sort of tasted like a stroganoff. The pastas were served together first, and then they brought out the hangar steak. Medium rare, with fries that remind you why Montreal is so well known for them, but also with some sort of a glaze or reduction which I didn’t know was there until the plate was finished and I scraped up whatever I could with a spoon. In fact, I scraped all three dishes clean using a spoon. This isn’t an Italian joint but they need to help me do scarpetta… maybe having that sour dough at the end with the mains so you can mop up the deliciousness on the plates.

Service throughout was so kind, unobtrusive but so attentive. Staff accentuated the warm and welcoming vibe of the dining room. I would go back just to be taken care of like that again.

I can’t wait to go again.

Remarkable food - thoughtful, surprising, delicious - in a beautiful environment. And the head hostess was amazing. Honestly, can’t say enough good things about that head hostess.
