Montreal hidden gem This bakery has been around for so many years, anything I buy I know will be delicious! Serving to company, I always get compliments. Their banana cream pie is out of this world. Biscuits cakes, breads, soups, anything this family makes is incredibly delicious and memorable.
I have been going to Le Fournil for years, and they have always showed extreme consistency in their products, something I find extremely difficult to come across since COVID. I have done my birthday cake here for the last 6 years!!! I have a severe Peanut and Tree Nut allergy and there are few bakeries in the city I trust. Passed by and thought I'd give it a try. I ordered a chocolatine, an apple square and an almond croissant. I received a croissant instead of a chocolatine, but no big deal. The almond croissant was amongst the better ones I've had here in Montréal. A good natural almond flavor with a wonderfully chewy texture and flaky crust. The apple square was also delicious. The apple filling was natural and not too sweet, and the dough had a great chewy texture with a slight hint...
